Correct, but you noticed the each item was given a task, pistol is defense, rifle is larger game, .22LR is ?? He didn't specify. So you speculated it was defense, but I think it's small game. Guess we wait until he comes back to this thread and lets us know. No I didn't.... I said his larger calibe...

Re: .22 pistol for bugging out? Or just rifle

Yes, squirrels and small fowl can be easily had with a 22lr pistol.

I can shoot doves, quail, and bunnies around here all day with it. Plenty accurate. I think the issue here is many haven't ever used a quality 22lr pistol with a decent optic on it.

Re: .22 pistol for bugging out? Or just rifle

I think that in small engagements between relatively small groups of individuals with no indirect fire weapons and no support it will be less what gun you have and more who fires the first shot. If a man is 100 yards away, hidden, and shoots you with a 10/22 three or four times you probably won't k...

Re: .22 pistol for bugging out? Or just rifle

In a survival situation what is the benefit of a pistol? It seems to me that the accuracy and extra punch of a long gun make it a an obvious choice. Now I could understand a pistol from a personal defense standpoint or if you had it in a Go Bag and your long gun was unavailable. I admittedly am a f...

Re: .22 pistol for bugging out? Or just rifle

Ok, I'm a little confused. Not that this is anything new. about my skills yes I have taken a rifle out to 2500yards (338 lapua) and yes I have a deer at 700 yards (not as big of a feat) If you have these skills with a long arm - why are we worrying about a .22 handgun? Take your MBR and the CC. You...

Hot damn, I like the look of the cf AP Custom ones. Wonder if the "rifle length" one is 12", because it doesn't say.

I was pretty set on a Ranier Arms/Samson Evolution rail, but this may take the cake. I'll have to email them to see how much they weigh in comparison.

Re: .22 pistol for bugging out? Or just rifle

Carry a pistol with a respectable cartridge for self defense in a holster, carry a rifle that's .223 and up for larger game/ranges, and pack a small .22 pistol like a Ruger sr22. Its light and wont take up very much space. Why would you need a small caliber pistol for defense, when you're carrying ...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

I plan to build a spare short barreled upper for my SBR soon (early next year). This one will go in that thing.

It's all good, because I like having at least one spare full BCG lying around.

Ask in the AK or optics thread. They're pretty popular on AKs.
Fuck it. I just ordered one. It's going on my 30-30.

Anyone have experience with the the Primary Arms micro red dot?

I'm considering getting it over an actual Aimpoint, and saving myself a few hundred bucks. It won't be going on an AR.

Re: Looking for a .22 pistol

I've shot a lot of rugers and a lot of buckmarks. I prefer the ruger's trigger pull and balance, despite them being a pain in the ass to take apart I would and do continue to buy rugers. A factory Buckmark trigger pull can easily be reduced to under 3lbs, while maintaining a smooth and crisp break....

Re: What kinda BOOTS do you wear

I've been through two of those. Very comfy but that's all it had for me The sole separated from the upper on the first pair after a year of use. Daily wear in the city and 3-4 hikes. Tried again with a new pair, tore the upper. Same wear. Also noticed the soles wore very quickly. Like 6 months the ...
