Very interesting stuff, I would never have thought to flip a hawk around. I just can't see Thompson as anything other than Ron Burgandy with weapons

Re: Wood, Metal, or Plastic/polymer Ax/'hawk handles?

I prefer the steel tang/rubber construction of Estwings. I got mine stuck in a camp fire and laying on hot coals, the handle barely melted. Those things are tought.

Air cooled engines are for aircraft, not Volkswagon Beatle Sport models.

Engines hanging out the ass are for boats, not Hitlermobiles.

Buddy of mine had a Cayman Porsche, it was cool but I like my 1/4 of the cost Corvette much more.

Re: I'm painting my miata and need ideas on colors.

P.S. I love taking folks who call the Miata a chick car to the track and showing them what the car was really designed for! Better yet, meeting people in their Vettes and Vipers who laugh at my track whore Miata and lapping them (usually multiple times) in a single session. I appreciate the M...

Re: Gripes about gun stores

Also, what the hell is with people showing their CCL/P as an ID? And then going on about it's validness, when I didn't fucking bat an eye about it? At a gun store, I can understand it, "I'm a good guy and I can prove it!". At a fucking electronics store? For one, get a new holster cuz that full siz...

Re: Gripes about gun stores

I applied to work at a gun shop, but they turned me down because I have no military experience. Meh, still the best store in town so I do my transfers with them. A lot of the "tropes" I get at my retail job, electronics sales. You know what really grinds my gears? Guys that think they know their shi...

If you do not strap all of those to your body at once and take a picture, you are a wimp. I you do?

This is the part where I am thankful for living in a quiet rural area outside of Austin.

Just watched Gangster Squad. That and Robocop need to get back into action, except I get Stone instead of Gooseling.

Re: Firearms Chat.....Sans catchy title

How long do y'all think it'll be before we see one of those made of something like aluminum ? Although, I suppose if the material used is a high strength polymer (like whatever Glock makes their frames out of), it'll be no issue. The file is for a 3D printer, which sadly is just ABS or similar plas...

Re: Beginners Guide To Purchasing A Self-Defense Pistol

everyone who wears pants should be carrying a small auto in a front pants pocket. the only question, really, is should it be the much more easily controlled 380, or the 2-3x as powerful 9mm? I have a Kimber I had chambered in 357 Sig, with the right shirt it will completely conceal in my front pock...

Re: Firearms CHAT, the whateverth

When your standard is an AR, a Mosin recoils hard. I don't think anyone here would hand a M44 to their 92 year old, 5 foot nothin', 90 pounds soaking wet, arthritic grandma, and tell her "oh, there's hardly any recoil." I hope not, at least. Depending on if they are in the will, there are probably ...

Re: Firearms CHAT, the whateverth

I've shot 4 inch Gp100's, and I liked it. I do like the look of the 5" barrel. can any trigger work be done to improve the DA pull? Yeah, put a lighter spring kit in it. Just make sure you don't go too low on the hammer spring and start getting light strikes. I put a spring kit in my Dad's .327 mag...

I've seen a few machete fight videos from down south, the only one that seemed to show any technique other than hacking and slashing wildly is where the two combatants where holding sticks off hand to parry. Never got a clear outcome, as the bystanders where pissed with the two and started pelting t...
