Re: Scanners and Internet feeds.

Reference the encyrption: If it's actually encrypted, you won't hear it, period. For an encryption enabled radio to hear an encrypted transmission, it has to be loaded with the encryption key. That encryption key usually is loaded by a physical, credit card sized card and a reader, or by an encrypte...

Re: CB radio trouble

Propogation on CB is REAAAALLLY low right now. I have a very well tuned CB setup on my Jeep, do HAM radio as a hobby, and work in commercial radio for a living. I turned on my CB a couple times in the last couple weeks and it's almost completely dead. Usually I get a couple S units of skip/backgroun...

Re: The Official ZS DEBTSQUAD: BODY COUNT thread.

I am down to just my vehicle and my house. I could comfortable pay both of those every month for the rest of my life. But I am going to work to get my vehicle paid off sooner than the actual loan term, so I can just have my house. I THINK, when that happens, I might get rid of my Menard's Card and m...

Re: used my first aid and other skills (not happy ending)

Sometimes all you can do, is all you can do. I'm not sure that in a situation like this, any further medical skills would have helped her. Time is absolutely critical in a cardiac situation. Perhaps getting your landlord (I assumed from the story that it's an apartment-type building) to flip for an ...

I'm a tech. I use the radio about a half dozen times a year. But I still have contacts to Brazil, Hawaii, US Virgin Islands, and England, to name a few.

Re: This Person Won't Stop Texting Me

99% of the time when I dealt with phone harassment as a cop, following the advice of "just ignore it" worked great, IF the person actually did it. Some people just can't help but respond to everything. They're only doing it because they know it pisses you off. If you don't respond, they'll just assu...

Same here, except they've had it for 3 years or more. I pick up a pouch or 4 every time I grocery shop to add into my food stores. Never seen the Coleman stuff at any of my 3 local Wally World's.

Supposedly it's in the works to be released soon. BUT, for as long as I've been into Jeeps, there's been a diesel wrangler rumor. I have been seeing more credible info on it recently though.

Re: Jeep Liberty signs and symptoms /need diagnosis

On all Jeeps you don't need need any special equipment to pull the codes. Just turn the key to point that your radio turns on and then quickly turn it off three times. On the third time leave it on and codes will come up where your mileage is displayed. Just have a pin and paper handy. I just tried...

Interesting to say the least. It's obviously feasible to live of such a small amount of stuff, probably 95% of the things we own are merely comfort items... I have no idea what my wife's van has in it... My vehicles sit like so- 07 Liberty (company vehicle) - Full 05 Wrangler Unlimited - No idea, I hardly have to drive it. Probably around half a tank, that seems to be what's left after every time I fill it up and drive it. 88 Grand Wagoneer - If I had t...

Re: CB Radios for Convertibles

HT. I've found that CB usage, at least in the CR area has dwindled massively lately. Plus, you can get Wouxun or other cheapo-HT's for so cheap these days it's insane. I bought a Wouxun thinking it would just be a piece of garbage I could mess around with, but I ended up loving it, and the quality i...

I see Sam's Club also has these available, but when looking at them on Samsclub.com, they say you have to find them in a store and none near me (Iowa) have them. Budget side-flip 3x magnifier

I bought a Sight-Mark 3x side-flip magnifier for my AR, I think it cost $90. It's a huuuuge pile of crap. The mount clanks all over the place, the eye relief on it is about an inch, and it absolutely will not show my red dot clearly no matter how I adjust it or move the components around. I'm lookin...

Spec-Ops T.H.E. packs in Coyote brown are on sale for $99.95 @ spec-ops. I don't recommend this for much of anybody else, but my personal winter driving habits involve the following: 1. Wait until there is 3 feet of snow on the ground 2. Start Jeep, let it warm up. 2a. While warming up the engine, air down the tires a bit. 3. Take off into parts unknown 4. Bust as many d...
