Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

Maine has it's first reported case as of today. Best of luck to Alabama, Alaska and West Virginia, the remaining states with no reported cases. Although it's a fool's bet thinking the virus isn't already in those three states. It just hasn't been reported yet. All sorts of craziness in supermarkets ...

Re: A better saw than the Silky?

This is a long review of Silky saws compared to a Ichibon Samurai saw. The first 7 minutes of the video are reviewing the Silky. Which everyone has seen. So I started the video after 7 minutes. Which highlights the Ichibon Samurai saw. It's cheaper and better than the Silky's. [YouTube]http://www.y...

Re: NATO VS Civie gas can

The Wranglestar YT video I referenced earlier. I remembered it incorrectly; it's not NATO vs Consumer-Grade, it's good Consumer-Grade versus bad Consumer-Grade. Which echos what PistolPete said earlier that there are different levels of consumer grade cans. Worth a watch if you're trying to decide w...

Re: Ideas for prepping your pantry

I was super excited when you posted that link though. I've noticed that pro-prepping coverage is becoming more prevalent in the mainstream media, which is a really welcome development. According to that particular article however, I'm not stocking nearly enough different kinds of cooking oils and vi...

Re: NATO VS Civie gas can

I'm looking to start storing some gas as a prep and went to pick up a second 20L Jerry can. So I'm in the store with a $17 civilian can and a $54 NATO can in front of me. I cannot figure out the advantage to the NATO can. Can anyone enlighten me? The NATO cans have a larger spout, but do not includ...

Re: Ideas for prepping your pantry

A nice article but I question how useful it is from a prepping perspective. The three levels of pantry categorization - basic, expanded and expert are all geared towards cooking expertise rather than degrees of preparedness.

The Last of Us to be an HBO mini series

This could be so awesome or they could pull a "The Passage" a la FOX and totally mess this up. Based on the involvement of Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman on the project however, there is room for cautious optimism. Fingers crossed! https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-51767143 https://www.joblo.com/asse...

While this is certainly not TEOTWAWKI it has caused us to change some plans. We were going to spend Christmas in Austria this year and that is now off the table. When I was in college, I found out it was because they have computer crunching away figuring out relationships. Re: The world's most ridiculous bug out gear!

Based upon what we have been seeing lately any BOG used inappropriately is ridiculous. Let's face it, if you are putting on your Tyvek suit to go to COSTCO today you have failed. She was just trying to be trendy. Sometimes the 'fast fashion' brands don't quite nail the original. https://i.guim.co.u...
