Re: Items you cant prep for

I live in Florida right now so I can grow a lot of different foods. But I know a lot of my friends who live in other states where they have a real winter. They love tropical fruits like pineapple, mangoes, and bananas. Yeah you can stock up on your favorite hard to get food like for me, chocolate, b...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

One residential septic tank should accommodate a family of deficators for quite a while, YMMV. That is new construction. I can tell you there won't be any septic systems in new construction in NOVA. Oh, I found this... its an Eco based sewage filtration. Designed for sustainability. Alexandria Back...

Re: Odd Preps: The things you can't live without

I cant think of anything I cant live without, except maybe good health, I reckon we all need that one. Good health doesn't exist in a vacuum by itself, STUFF, both physical and mental/spiritual is required to maintain good health. I don't agree, one either has good health or one dosent. it dosent n...

Re: Galaxy news radio!!!!

I could see starting one if you are in a community that way there is some security. If you are making it a 24 hour station you have other people who will most likely be interested as well to spell you. They could have their own radio show on your station. Auntie Em's Canning Hour. Gary's Gun Care an...

CII, CIII, CIV, and CV drugs. The more controlled they are the harder they are to stockpile.

At least with legend drugs you can buy a fill straight cash and buy another fill through your insurance. Probably any sort of specialized medical equipment as well.

Re: Odd Preps: The things you can't live without

I remember reading some books about the pioneers who moved West. A lot of women didn't feel civilized until they had a separate sitting room for entertaining guests. I know it's not an apocalypse type scenario but it's the closest thing I can think of that relates. The people who settled the west ha...

Re: Odd Preps: The things you can't live without

I haven't narrowed it down yet but one of my books that is not apoc/post-apoc, survival related, or my Bible. I would totally need an escape book to take my mind off of my situation at least for awhile. Books have always been a survival tool for me.

EDIT: nevermind, don't do it...
I found the ending extremely disappointing and I usually enjoy YA still. I didn't know it was a series but I'm not going to bother with the rest.

Re: Bras for a bugout bag or backpacking pack?

I would go with a sports bra for a BOB or at least a sensible bra (leave the sexy lace no support ones in your lingerie drawer at home). I also have small boobs 32A. Sometimes I don't wear a bra but that is usually on the weekends but they don't get sore like yours are, probably because they are gro...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Personally..... I thought it was an amazing episode one of the best yet. If you know PTSD it should resonate deeply. much kudos to the makers of this episode. It honestly disheartens me that people have become so inured with ADD entertainment that it has to all be rockem, sockem, killem, and fuckem...

Re: Your world order after th dust settles???

These may or not may not be good examples: In such a world that you are describing I think the governments that form will take the form of town councils and not even get as large as the state government for awhile. In a large place the the United States a Federal type government will take decades if...

Re: I got in a car wreck

Going to look at a car tomorrow. Accident free and recall free. Also under 100,000 miles. 1999 Toyota Corolla. Now I just have to deal with my ticket. A couple of people have told me about ticket clinic so I'm going to check that out. Otherwise I'll just pay the fine and take the class to avoid the ...

Thanks I will definitely have to check that out. My OB/Gyn already uses the teenager equipment when I go for my checkup so the thought of inserting something large just makes me itchy.

Re: I got in a car wreck

I have a nice dent in my nose because the airbag smashed my glasses into my face. But apparently it actually made my glasses fit better. I just have a band aid over it and that cushions the bruising so it doesn't hurt because my glasses are on.

I'm perfectly fine. Just really sore from the airbag hitting me in the face. The car stopped in front of me. I hit my brakes but still hit them. They hit the car in front of them. The car I didn't hit went to the hospital complaining of back and neck pain. So I'm still waiting for the fallout of tha...

I would think they should have saved that prisoner and once they were done getting intel out of him then kill him.

I think Carol is so kickass is she able to compartmentalize it better than the others. Probably due to her abusive husband.

Where did Carl get that M4? Was it stashed in his house? The one single thing about the whole episode that really expressed the difference between the Alexandria group and Ricks group was when it was all said and done the timer went off and Carl didn't think about what he had just done, he just put...

Re: Mad Max: Fury Road trailer release

This movie was supposed to take place between two of the other movies? Interesting. Hubby and I thought it was taking place 10-20 after the third movie. That Max was not the original Mad Max and they just used Mad Max in the title to portray that it is part of the franchise. I figured all the war gi...

Another good idea for little ones is a flashlight with changeable colored discs so they can change the color of the light. I have a flashlight from the Army from when I was in Basic, (no I'm not armed forces didn't finish basic) and you can change the color of the lens white, red, and blue. My 3 yea...
