Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

No that is with the new compressor. With hand pump it would take me about 75 pumps for a 400cc reservoir. I attempted to do the tank and stopped after 250 pumps. The pump is great for your rifles if you are not going to on the range all day. You will get pretty tired after a while or get in really g...

Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

For the 90 cubic tank it took me about two and a half minutes from 3000 to 4500. The 68 cubic foot tank took me about the same amount of time from 500 PSI to about 1,500 PSI. I filled the reservoir in my hot sun in about a minute and a half. Most of these jobs are topping off existing tanks. They're...

Re: Apartment heating

As an addition tape a heap of those cheap car shade things on your windows. To increase heat? I thought they kept heat out? Or maybe we are thinking of different things? They reflect radiant heat and provide a tiny amount of insulation. If the radiant heat is coming from inside, then it will reflec...

Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

Well, I filled my first tank today. I took it from 3000 psi to 4500 and under 7 minutes. I did a partial fill in the untested tank. Everything seemed to go quite well temperature was down I'm still not going to fill the untested tank fully. I am going to have to find someplace to hydro test it real ...

Re: What did you today for your BOV/how did you prepare your BOV

Have a 2011 Dodge RAM 2500 extended cab an 8-foot bed. I put high top cab on it with the idea being able to camp in the back comfortably. I found it not so easy, is it gets extremely cold and the bed of the truck is still pretty hard for my old bones. I have always enjoyed hammock camping and it was...

Re: Apartment heating

I've thought about this topic as well. I don't live in an apartment building but I do live in a rental duplex. The unit that I have does have natural gas for heating purposes, but in the event of a long-term SHTF, I was actually thinking of a pot belly stove system out one of the side windows that p...

Re: Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink

Thanks Raptor. Always enjoy your input. I know that someone mentioned distilling water. I would like to mention that distilling is VERY energy intensive and still only makes water safer. Chemically contaminated water will still have volatiles that can evaporate and condensate with the distilled wate...

Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

Those compressors sound like something I could fill my dive tanks with and I never bought one for that either. It would be nice to fill my own bottles and try to show a safer way of filling bottles in the event of a catastrophic failure. The dive tanks get put in a tub of water when filling them. b...

Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

Yeah these compressors go up to 4500 PSI. The PCP is definitely an investment but one that I think is well worth it for long-term viability. I can cast my own rounds that I know will fit my rifles so as long as there is lead available always have ammo andare's pretty endless. I can pump rifle up wit...

Has anyone heard of scaring sticks

I read an article on artifacts thawing out of receding glaciers and found an interesting comment about scaring sticks used for hunting. According tothe article one meter stick with a very light object tied to the top that would blow in the wind would start on migrating herds and direct them towards ...

Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink

Admin merge if a dupe but I tried my best to search. So out of the blue, it suddenly dawned on me, the boiled or treated water taste like crap. I started to think about the problem and how boiling water really is one of the best ways to treat water. I started thinking about how to overcome the bad t...

Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

So...I got a little tired of pumping up my PCP with pumps and my small bottles are great but inconvenient when I run out of air. I considered ordering a Nomad II compressor from Pyramid Air at $600+. I read failure rates on them were about the same for the Nomad and the only felt the Yong Heng air c...

Re: Stealth electric bikes bomber

Another great bike I saw that also got me interested in this was a guy who built a nice little teardrop trailer to go behind his eBike and slapped a flexible 250W solar panel to the top of it. His motor was a 250W kit and he basically got continous power during the daytime. It was pretty amazing. He...

Re: Stealth electric bikes bomber

So I have started dabbling into this realm recently. I started out with a simple 500 watt trike for a disabled neighbor over a year ago. I purchased the parts off eBay for under $350 and put it together myself for him. The basket provided ample room and carrying capacity for some larger sealed lead ...

Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

So I have the Hatsan big bore .357 and that is a 6 shot. However the Inovairtech system is pretty good and it should save on pumping. I might recommend a .22 break barrel if you can't spend too much. They are pretty powerful for the price and a well placed shot can down up to medium game. Gamo I hav...

Re: Lets Talk: Air Rifles!

So I haven't been on for a while and haven't focused on anything except recovering from a relationship gone bad, emotionally and financially. I have since then purchased a .50 Cal wingshot with pump and a carbon fiber tank to cut down on some of the pumping. I am looking to maybe do some waterfowl h...

A bit of a non-sequitur, but I'll give this air rifle thread a boost whenever I can. I've had this camped out in my cart for months now, just waiting to pair it with a good deal on a .25 cal Benjamin Marauder or other high value PCP air rifle. https://www.walmart.com/ip/High-Pressure-Hand-Pump-3-St...

If you want an awesome pistol try this: http://www.inovairtech.com/MACP_REVOLVER_s/1867.htm Inovairtech also has an amazing Rifle system that looks pretty bad a**. The cartyridge system provides a steady shot group as the cartridges hold enough pressure for one shot. Shoot and replace. they have a t...

There is an assortment of projectiles this air rifle can shoot, ranging from 550gr all the way down to 200gr projectiles. They told me they have used .50 beowulf bullets as well...
