Re: Cheap Husky and Stihl chainsaw clones/knock offs, should you buy?

I know lots of folks don’t like to admit, but Chinese power equipment (even quads and motorcycles) are getting a little better every year. There is nothing wrong with Chinese made power equipment. That isn't the point. The whole point of a knock off is to use cheaper materials to make something tha...

Re: Everyday is Cybersecurity Awareness Day

Lately they have been going after our city phone lines. Since for them it is a full time job I guess they may eventually get in. We are now talking about actually murdering people through hacking. If you interfere with fire, EMS or police assistance during an emergency that results in their death th...

Re: Alone S6

Alone is my favorite show. I love the entertainment value and the education the show provides. It probably does the best job of highlighting how hard living in a wilderness environment is. The skill levels of the participants seem to be increasing every year. I just wish there were more episodes ea...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

Yup, I'm following these developments. It's hard to say what's going to happen in the next year. We may be close to a vaccine...or not. In any case, I can easily carry enough provisions for an Atlantic crossing and 2-week quarantine, especially if sailing alone. I guess you are aware that even in 2...

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)

I think both are happening among those I see speaking this way. Some people really think they mean it. Most of them are truly clueless about violence and what really happens when people start getting rounded up or shoot back. Most are venting hyperbolicly and would shift how they spoke if I could c...

Alone S6

Finished binge watching Alone S6 on Netflix. I say damn, that shit looked hard. And when it got harder, it became near impossible. You know midway who is going to win and why but it was still worth watching to see how everyone else would finish out. I am not much in to reality TV but it had me hooked.

For the used market, yes. Due to the inability to make product and get into people's hands, other companies will be losing out big time. And I expect ammo shortages will become much more acute. Not me. Many gun ranges were closed for long periods and some remain closed. A lot of people have nowhere...

Re: Atlanta Walkout

I think traffic stops are instructive. During the week before the 4th of July in 2019 the APD made around 3000 traffic stops. In 2020 it was 50. Traffic stops are self-initiated activity. I agree with the logic (I am taking your #s at face value) and if asked for organizational advice from an organ...

The locals did not follow them and disavowed the people involved in this. The locals knew that walking on an expressway was great way to squished and in fact in LA the law indemnifies a motorist exercising reasonable care who hits a pedestrian such a roadway. Every time I drive on a highway in the ...

Re: Seattle: The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone

While the urge to scatter from a fast moving car needs no explanation; I am seeing the opposite reaction for a slow moving but honking car where the crowds seem to swarm. Its like they tacitly recognize the car as an immediate and dire threat, but the strategy to deal with it is incomprehensible to...

Re: Bow vs air rifle for shtf/prepping?

Well it kinds of depends upon the bow and the rifle. There are air rifles out there that will drop an elk. There are worthless bows out there. It also depends upon your strategy, purpose for said weapon and other issues.

Re: Atlanta Walkout

Is APD still calling in sick? One thing to remember. A demoralized work force is a demotivated work force. Just because an employee is sitting at his/her/it's desk does not mean they are productive or effective. “This is probably the most challenged, most violent weekend that I could recall,” inter...

Re: Atlanta Walkout

This is because the DA has lost all confidence of the law enforcement community in the area. One week he went on TV and told the world that a TASER was deadly force and the officers were wrong for using it to enable an arrest. A couple of weeks later he reversed himself and said it was not deadly f...

North Alabama's largest county (Madison) has implemented a mandatory mask requirement to go in effect at 1700 today. The virus is now spreading exponentially. I would highly encourage those that have not had the virus to avoid the area. Am I the only one shocked that anyone could think this thing is...

While I can kind of get it, big papers/stations should use resources they have for exposing large scale crimes with multi month long investigations etc. you’d think that local small time papers like the Stranger in Seattle would Be in on this especially since they had reporters in the CHOP zone day...

Just something I've noticed a few places over the last few days: It seems ammo prices in brick and mortar stores are better than online prices, though the selection and quantities available online are both better than in stores. Hmmm, have not checked prices in a while. Did not realize that 556 was...

I was just watching the new Paul Harrel video and realized that laptop manufacturers are missing out on a good market for bullet-resistant laptops. I'll bet a kevlar cored polycarbonate case instead of current case materials might offer significant protection inside a bookbag filled with other item...

Most cases are mild not requiring hospitalization. It seems to be mostly running through our Hispanic community who appear to be mostl...
