Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Are the PSA AK kits available yet ? I thought they weren't ready yet. They were in stock yesterday, at $379 for barreled upper, dust cover, bolt carrier, gas tube. Furniture and LPK sold seperately. http://palmettostatearmory.com/blem-psak-47-gb2-barreled-receiver-with-matched-bolt-carrier-dust-cov...

Sounds like the shows here, Zobmiedown. Is there at least one guy selling homemade beef jerky and Indian jewelry ? If so, that's probably one of the vendors who hits the shows in Odessa. As for the Blue Line Glocks, not very many shops out here offer them. I can think of maybe one shop that used to...

Where to start w/pressure cooker and dehydrator

Hello all! I recently came across an old National pressure cooker with the weight and pressure gauge intact at a thrift store, took it home and don't have a clue where to start with it. I know pressure cookers can be used both to cook and to can (and this one came with a canning rack still inside) b...

Re: All Purpose "Help me pick a gun for my budget" thread.

Second PSA for good budget AR parts. Have several of their "blem" (read: a spot of finish smaller than my pinky nail was gloss instead of matte) lowers and two AR's composed of mostly PSA parts picked up from "blem" sales. Seriously, if you have the patience and can keep the cash set aside for a run...

Speaking of mag issues. My google fu is murky. Can anyone tell me from experience if SD9VE mags will work in a S&W flavor Sub2K?

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Welp. Franklin Armory (Been watching Shot Show coverage all week) came out with the new iteration of their BFS, and I now have a powerful need for a 9mm AR with Hera furniture and a BFS to be my super space invader gun. In arctic white of course. And one of those Mossy Shockwaves too. Nifty that the...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

It's been pretty hard to find .22 WMR FMJ. All that seems to be available is expanding ammo. On the plus side, at least that's available. During the .22 LR scare .22 WMR was pretty much impossible to get. Lucky Gunner has some. FMJ. Unfortunately shipping ammo to Alaska is not allowed without a ver...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Most of the chatter I've heard says if you want a concealed carry single stack striker pistol, get a Kahr. If you want a double, Shield. 26 works but the ergonomics aren't all that. The 43 is just an odd pig, wider than most single stacks on the market today and not as ergonomic either. Concealabili...

I might have to pick up one of those Nightcores. Awfully tempting, especially with my Mags going back for service due to unexplained lumen drops.

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

By that you mean a 22/45 with the Mk4 takedown system right? I think that'll happen in the next few years to be honest. Even with a poly frame all the Mk4 system needs to work is metal indexes for the latches, so with a few tweaks I don't see why they couldn't give a 22/45 the same treatment. I'm al...

Re: Honey Badger: A True Dissipator AR

Dang that Magpul rifle furniture on a carbine is sexy as hell. Question though, why didn't you do a faux-dissy, with the carbine length gas system hidden under the hand guard with a low profile gas block and the FSB just acting as a front site and anchor for furniture?

I don't need a faux dissipator. I have other things I need to do first. BUT GODDAMN I WANT TO.

Mk4's are nice, put a few hundred rounds through one a few weeks ago. Going to wait for more aftermarket support though, or for Ruger to come out with a factory threaded model.

When you say turn it into a carry gun, do you mean just cerakote it or put a Detective slide on it? Wait, they still make the Detective slides for BHPs ? Then again, I haven't really looked at BHPs in years so they very well might still be making those and I'm just an idiot. They don't to the...

I seriously want to cerakote my only 2 tone gun. Black and chrome does not appeal to me at all.

But I'm debating, do I want to go tuxedo black on slide and barrel or go :clownshoes: international distress orange or lemon meringue yellow?

Pretty amazing work. You could patent the pattern and call it Multi-Celt. Thanks for posting so many pictures. Multi-Celt for the win. Also, now all I can picture is Dawgboy running around in the ZPAW with this belt and a few other archaic weapons. Coming over a dew covered rise, the morning...

-Mosin Nagant ($200... should be $99 if you ask me) You're tellin me... I remember when I could scoop up an all-matching M44 for $150 and a M91/30 for $100, and Finns were "expensive" at $200, TT pistols were running in the $150's if that, Tok ammo was 5c/rd, SKS's were running in the $250-300's an...

If you want to go the tear gas grenade route just buy tear gas grenades that are hand thrown. If they are legal in your state no Federal lic required. Mostly a couple of them will just piss people off though. You will probably get rocks back in return. I'm wondering now (mad scientist that I am) if...

TBH handloading 45/70 is even easier than handloading 303 brit. Fill your case with loose black powder, wipe it level, tap it a few times to settle the powder and then seat your slug. Besides, 45/70 has an absolutely delightful recoil impulse when loaded with BP. More of a push than a kick.
