Re: ultra short rifles/carbines?

well you might be able to pick up a vector for around $800 in this market. Considering that a Cx4, a ruger PC9 or anything else of decent quality will run you that much I think it would be a good deal. Just dropping this in.... Bud's has been running the CX4 for around $700 recently. Most times in ...

Re: Same Caliber Guns, or Different Calibers?

Thanks everyone for your replies. Lots of good thoughts and suggestions. **The CX4 and PX4 are supposed to have interchangeable mag's. I'll know for sure in a few days. Always looking to buy additional ammo and have been checking into getting more magazines. I have been thinking of a shotgun for my ...

Re: avoid it all

I've seen figures along the lines of no more than 15 minutes from the EBS telling us it's not a test to the mushrooms sprouting. Sub launched missiles can reduce the time to around 7 minutes for certain 'primary' targets. And there's a really good chance that the EBS won't be activated soon enough ...

What's Worth Saving?

The world as we know it is about to change for the worst. Your sheltering-in place but need to bug-out to your refuge. What is worth saving? What do you have at your residence that you think is worth preserving? Which book might you take off the shelf? A music CD you 'have to' take with you? Is ther...

Go with the 92 pistol and share the mags too.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Have the CX4 already, picking up a PX4 semi-compact this week---both 9mm.
CX4 has two 17 round mags and PX4 coming with two 13 round mag's.

Re: Noob From "The Other West Coast"...Tampa Bay area

Thanks for the greeting guys... Good to know there are some other 'local" members, Teeth... ...and I know what your saying. I prefer stocking up for 7 days but can make it at least as month with the basics, if needed. Seven days no power during the '04 season hits and sweated it big time during '05.

Re: 1 Minute To Prep (from the Zombie Survival Wiki at Wetpaint)

Well...one minute. Let's see. I have the Sig P6/P225 and my Beretta CX4 Storm in this room. All mag's loaded...that's 50 rounds ready to go. I'd get my S&W from the bedroom. Another loaded 32 rounds ready to go. Enough ammo stored in this room to make a good stand. Quickly grab some stuff from the f...

Same Caliber Guns, or Different Calibers?

When I first got into guns (just in the past 6 months) I thought it would be best to that they all be the same caliber. Easy to take them to the range as they all would use the same ammo. All my guns are 9mm. This caliber is easy enough to find and fairly inexpensive. I had about 300 rounds on hand ...

Re: Chavez threatining war?

Chavez says so many off-the-wall and funny things I'm surprised he's not a regular guest on Saturday Night Live. He see's 'acts of war' with every sunrise. But a "Declaration of War" from him, while it would never be taken seriously by any right-thinking country, would have to be addressed. For some...

Re: Tropical Depression 11 / Tropical Storm Ida

Ida sure did pick up speed and strengthen since Saturday. Typical unpredictability of tropical systems. Don't know who will be effected until it's knocking at your door. Sure would have been nice to get the rain here though. The folks up North (in Ida's new path) really don't need or want it. They'v...

Miss the most: Coffee, sugar, pizza, beer, the internet

Miss the least: The annual Snowbird invasion, election time lawn signs, electric bills, people that don't know what that long skinny pedal is for in their cars

Re: St. Petersburg, Florida initial BOL: The Pier

This is the thread that attracted me to this site. I too live in St. Petersburg...on the west side, near St. Pete General (yeah I can see it from where I am...WAY too close to a place were many will go in the beginning of an outbreak). The Pier...hmmm. If there was time to procure/move a couple of t...

Re: Tropical Depression 11 / Tropical Storm Ida

It's looking like Ida will be an extra-tropical system by the time it makes landfall. The Weather Channel has it's cone (as of this 9:30 this morning) from the Alabama/Florida border down to just south of Ft. Myers. As always, landfall predictions are "iffy" this far out. Water tempature transittion...

Re: Quick, defend yourself: What do you have on hand RIGHT now?

At home... I started with 9mm guns. All my present firearms are 9's. All mags are always loaded and both guns and mags are within easy reach. I have a Sig P6/225 with two 8 round mags.. a Beretta CX4 Storm (carbine) with two 17 round mags.. a S&W Sigma series with two 16 round mags..(and 2 more 16 r...

Noob From "The Other West Coast"...Tampa Bay area

Hey all. Chuck from Saint Petersburg Florida...and yeah, some of us here call it "The Other West Coast". Native of Philadelphia. Been down here over 20 years now. I happened across this site while searching about some of the strange things going on around the world recently. Read through a couple of...
