To anyone else looking to rock the lever as a do-all rifle, I have two links. https://www.hillpeoplegear.com/Forum/tabid/679/forumid/24/scope/threads/Default.aspx Scott and Evan have killed all kinds of stuff with lever-actions, and have several threads about it. http://www.rangerpointprecision.com/...

Re: Turn your Glock into an SBR.

While not an SBR, Mechtech makes a Carbine Conversion Unit for several manufacturers handguns. 16" barrel and meets rifle OAL. The longer barrel gives a nice fps boost with 10mm. Sadly, my .45 1911 sees no such bonus. http://www.mechtechsys.com/glock.php I tried one. Meh. it doesn't feel right with...

Re: Fallout 4......

I've been watching a few videos on Fallout 4 and there's something I've noticed that kind of makes me go "Huh?". Why is almost every gun in the Fallout 4 universe left handed ? Did the nuclear apocalypse take place in a universe where all guns are left hand eject or function ? Kind of like some gun...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

I'm wondering if in a few years reproduction guns are going to become the next big thing. I would love a modern production falling block .22 single shot, cause I'm weird like that. There's a company called Tippmann Armory that makes a modern production rolling block in .357 magnum and .44 magnum. I...

Re: Battlefield 1

I've always wondered why no one has made a decent WW1 FPS game in the past decade or so. I know Battlefield and Call of Duty started out as WW2 shooters, but I'm curious as to why neither franchise made a WW1 shooter during their beginning years. I know there's been a few strategy type games set in...

Re: .22 detachable magazine vs. tube magazine

I can definitely see the advantages in both a tube fed semi auto and a magazine fed bolt action. For the record, and not to hijack my own thread, I have a Mossberg 500 and a Mossberg 930 and love them both. The 500 was my first, I love the simplicity of operation, the reliability of a pump action, ...

Re: Pistol Carbine for BOB

With a decent barrel, .357 can hang with .30 Carbine. .30 Carbine from an 18" barrel, 110gr bullet is about 1900-2000fps. .357 Mag from an 18" barrel, about the same, but with 125gr or heavier. I think the .357 is gonna give you more drag with most loads (I hear the LeveRevolution stuff doesn't leav...

Re: SKS vs Marlin 330cs

Forgive my ignorance but, what is an OD mount? Do you mean on a picatinny rail? I would like to keep it as stock as possible so I wouldn't want to drill in a rail sleeve. I had considered high scope rings for the Marlin so I could use the iron sights, but they all seem so heavy and unergonomic (I h...

Re: .22 detachable magazine vs. tube magazine

The tube mag is faster until you have to reload it. Beyond that, it's entirely down to specific models. A T-bolt or straight-pull 10/22 (PWS Summit) or Ruger American Rimfire beats the pants off any tube mag gun in anything but price. A Savage MkII may or may not depending on the model. A Browning o...

Re: SKS vs Marlin 330cs

I'd take the Marlin, between the two, but I'd have a different optic on it, probably an Aimpoint or similar on a QD mount. It's slimmer, lighter, should be a hair shorter but as most it's a hair longer, and it sounds like you're a better shot with it. I know I'd be a better shot with that than with ...

Re: .22 TCM from Armscor anyone?

Ammo availability sucks, the rifles suck and don't take the pistol mags, and the R variants have been disappointing. The projectiles largely appear to draw from archaic and obsolete bullets (.218 Bee specifically), making handloading tough, and there's been issues with brass supplies and properly fo...

Depends what Bubba refinish means. If it's just a guy in a garage but the gun looks and functions well. I'd be interwsted to hear how that works. I might kick in for the PWS special snowflake buffer tube someday, but for now I'm just greasing up and keeping an eye out for carrier tilt.

Re: Huldra 5.56 piston upper Project

The Huldra's are made for them by Adams Arms. I've got one of those as well, Bud's had it as a complete midlength rifle for $599 and I added a Samson Evo EX9 handguard. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk I sorta thought the piston rig looked familiar. I have an Adams kit with a Voodoo barrel, but...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

Yeah, mariner is just a coating, there's a rare version of the 870 with the same. My best guess is that the cost of stainless pump guns would be cost prohibitive, and the companies already offering premium priced shotties don't see their clients being the type to neglect a $2000 firearm, or use it ...

Re: Building a House: redundant utilities ideas

Oh, one additional note.... In most places on Earth, the temperature behind / underneath 8 feet of well packed dirt is 60 degrees Fahrenheit year round. You can do two things with this info.... One is Geo-thermal heating / cooling for an above ground house, much more energy efficient. I would sugge...
