Re: Three season tent recommendations?

I have a Eureka Alpine Meadows that is at least 20 years old (maybe more). It functions perfectly.
I wouldn't worry about 8 years as long as the mice didn't get to it.

Re: The Coming Civil War

SPOILER ALERT Planning preps for a fantasy "civil war" won't increase ZS membership any more than killing Carl helped the Walking Dead's declining viewership . I was attracted to this site due to what I could learn from the storehouse of great threads that taught me about medicine, hands-on camping...

And whenever you come across a dry butane lighter - tear it apart. There is LOTS of unused flint inside.

Sopunds like you're looking more upscale/new but a cherry used Chevy Tracker would fit in the envelope.

Those little Suzuki Samurais are pretty bare bones, cheap, have a lot of aftermarket support, and are supposedly pretty good offroad. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQTYcmnvKPfF_-fd8w0nRLMkNR7TXbeYggSWIUXNyS6lTSEAZgAqg https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ1gY...

Re: Cheerful little video

Would they really try to evacuate all large cities? That sounds like an almost impossible waste of time. Back in the early '70's I met the guy in charge of planning the evacuation of the island of Manhattan in the event of nuclear attack. I told him "I just crossed the George Washington Bridge at 5...

The State of Ohio Dept. of Corrections should read this thread. They just interrupted an execution attempt and postponed execution
for 1 1/2 years because they couldn't find a vein for IV.

Re: Several must read SCi-fi based Apocalyptic novels

It's been mentioned before but A Canticle for Liebowitz is awesome. It's hundreds of years after the fall of civilization and those who seek knowledge of the ancients try their best to preserve and understand the scraps left over. Even while living in a world of violence and ignorance it's quite fu...

I actually have two cached guns. I got a old crusty but working H&R shotty and a grungy Rossi single in 308. I tested for function, then covered in synthetic wheel bearing grease, wrapped in aluminum foil, the saran warp, then vacuum packed with an industrial food saver. Stuffed each one in a 6 inc...

In 1971 when attending Ohio State, I was sitting in my dorm room when an alert came on "this is NOT a test".
Turned out to be a flub but I had a spooky 10 minutes or so.
