Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

1. Quit smoking. Threw out the last pack first thing this morning. Doin it for my family.
2. Eating better. Put on some weight and I wanna get it off. Going on a near vegetarian diet. Did it before and I just felt better. I then fell back into the fast and convenient diet.

Re: My GHB

As far as a bat for protection goes, I have a Dead On Annihilator that I keep on the passenger side floor when I have to go through the bad parts. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/02/06/y3e5y4yd.jpg Obviously not my pic but its what I got. The tent color is not optimal, but I got a 2 pack for Christmas....

Re: My GHB

grab an MRE Entree or two and for a GHB it will be passable. Add more medical gear, an ABD bandage some secondary wrap. seems you have a water bottle but not a controlled water source. id pass on filling up on municipal sources at this point. Forgive my ignorance, but what do you mean by controlled...

EDC-I switch between folders depending on type of dress and what I'm doing that day. I also have a paracord bracelet with whistle as a key chain that has a collapsible pen and flash drive.

Re: My GHB

Just to add, I do have a dedicated and more robust f.a.k. in my truck that has crazy glue and other supplies. I also have a tool box in there as well that has a couple prybars and some obligatory duct tape. I have a small pry bar that would fit in the molle webbing(i think). Thanks Lint21, I just go...

My GHB

Since I have fallen into this bottomless pit called prepping I have gathered much info, and I have rearranged my priorities. In most emergency situations, I plan on bugging in. That being said, I spend 40+ hrs a week at work and I saw a need for a "Get Home Bag." I work about 30 miles from my home a...

Re: Kel Tec Rifles

Damn. Bought one for my wife for $400 (used, obviously) back in 2006. It's not a bad rifle, per se...but it's no AR. It is very, very light (why she likes it). Feels like it would shatter if you dropped it hard. Those two sort of go hand-in-hand, I guess. Hers doesn't like USGI mags for some reason...

Re: Kel Tec Rifles

As an owner of a kel tec SU-16c I can say that I have had no operating issues with the gun. In the interest of full disclosure, I have less than 1000 rounds through it. One thing I don't like is that the stock will not fold with lancer mags. Other than that so far so good.

Some heavy duty welding gloves would work. I used them to handle barbed wire before. Harbor freight on the cheap.

Any weapon is the best weapon if it's the only weapon you have at the time. If your going up against a guy with a gun, yeah, a machete won't do dick.

I have not worn the Sams Club sox, but the Costco sox are awesome. I work outside often, and when I wear them I know the dogs are gonna be toasty warm.

Which crowbar has the most utility?

I for one would vote for the Dead On Annihilator. I have one, and I use it at work all the time. I mostly use it for prying tasks. The pointy tip is great, but follow proper "pointy thing safety protocol." The various nail pullers work well, and the hammer is acceptable for quick hits. I am not in c...

Re: Uptick in Fire Arm Purchases

It looked like someone raped the shelves at my LGS. They had 2 ar's, 1 ak pistol, VZ, and a Styer. They had converted a whole room to "tactical rifles" and it emptied in less than a week.
