Re: Do you know a future marauder?

It's a trust your gut scenario. If you don't consider him a close friend, be nice and point out the holes in his plan, but don't let him know all the specifics of your preps. That could put you on the top of his list to maraude(is that a word?) when or if the SHTF.

Re: Looking for a GHB, is the kool-aid worth it?

I came to the realization, that for me, a GHB is just as important if not more that a BOB. 90% of my plans involve buggin in, and we know bad things usually don't happen at the perfect time. Working a minimum 40 hrs a week (if I'm lucky) usually more, Odds are if I'm not home I'll be at work.

Re: glvoes recs: need thin, warm, but can work with

Depends on what kind of "warmth" level you are willing to tolerate for the dexterity. What JayceSlayn said. I work outside in the winter some times. That being said if your looking for just 1-2 hrs of use at a time, I use a pair of cheap stretchy gloves under the rubber dipped grip cat work gloves....

After about 4 years on the job, all most everyone I work with is wearing Carolina boots. Gotta mean something. I got a pair a couple weeks ago and my feet are thanking me for it.

So I picked up a issue of American Survivalist magazine. On the cover is Crovel inventor Tim Ralston. (The guy who shot him self on Doomsday Preppers) I haven't given it more than a cursory glance as of now, but I find it less digestible than OFFGRID. Anybody have a more in depth experience with thi...

Re: Leather Goods/Holsters for sale.

A couple of days ago I received the holster I ordered from Gun_Nut. Have to say, it is the most comfortable holster I own for this gun. Perfect retention on the gun too. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/23/sy7ugupy.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/23/sa6emapa.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/23...

Re: Something un-AR, New mini-14 vs Kel-Tec SU-16?

Another option would be the Mossberg MVP. Bolt guns are fun, and the tactical version has an AR-friendly twist rate, threaded barrel, and takes standard AR mags. Could be fun for playing around with some M193. I'm kind of partial to the 7615 myself, but oh how I wish they would make a 7621/7610(or ...

Re: Something un-AR, New mini-14 vs Kel-Tec SU-16?

If you want something fun, and able to handle the abuse you'll get on this forum, the su-16 is a lot of fun. I have the charlie model and its a blast. It can fire when folded which is cool too. If its a trunk gun, you won't have to worry about putting it together when you need it.

Re: OFFGRID Magazine

Considering its gonna be a biannual magazine, it's gonna be a while before I can give a definitive opinion. On the plus side, the people who have seen laying around the house have picked it up and it starts a conversation about prepping.

Re: My new flash hiders

However, I do have an interesting trigger group floating around in the back of my head. It would make your gun act like a bump fire stock. I spoke to the ATF, and they thought it should be legal. Of course they wouldn't guarantee that it was legal until they saw a working version. Get that in writi...

Re: New Job: Living on the road

Ask your employer what their policy is on CCW firearms. If The weapon is locked inside your car out of sight they can not force you to admit you even have it. They can not search your vehicle. But they can ask you to take the vehicle off the property. Best policy is to NEVER mention firearms at wor...

I just picked up a copy. Read the intro and they said its like prepping 101, but they're gonna go more in depth each issue. Haven't read much more, but it looks interesting. Seems like a good mag for introducing people to prepping.

The people who created RECOIL Magazine have a new magazine dedicated entirely to prepping. The first issue just came out. Any thoughts? Gonna go see if I can find it today. Image
