Re: Best Protiens For Storage on a Budget

I do a bit of white chicken, tuna, and a /little/ bit of spam. I got some canned beans/legumes. I also have cans of TVP / textured vegetable protein. I find that a lot of the canned meats are disgusting and hard to want to eat. Chili and stuff is decent but I can only eat so much before I get the ru...

Re: 5.56 AK from a 74 kit?

The cartridge dimensions are close enough that it appears easy enough to make the bolt work. With the bullet guide, it should work right feeding from the mag into the chamber. You will likely have to alter the mag hole. If 5.45 mags are wider than 5.56 mags it'll suck. They're likely close enough to...

Nice.

I can't see a reason not to get one, especially if it's a newer one post-"beta-testing"

Re: Good long range, large caliber rifle.

Honestly I don't see the need to really shot anything from a mile away in the civilian side of the world. Too much room for error and collateral damages. Now for my scouts, that's a different story. But not for civilians. That's just my opinion... What do I know? Don't need a reason. There ...

Re: 3D Models for firearms parts?

Um I'm pretty manufacturing of firearms encompasses a whole slew of legalities which OP should look into. I know the rules and regs of manufacturing, hence the comment about getting an 07 FFL. There's nothing illegal about manufacturing your own firearms as an unlicensed person so long as they are ...

Re: 3D Models for firearms parts?

Until I saw the above video I had an unrational fear that some criminal would use a 3D printer to mass product lower receivers and sell them on the street. Now I kinda hope that the criminals would do that instead of selling stolen guns that actually function. If anything the success rate of armed ...

I have had 2 of these rifles for about 6 months and ha e run several thousand rounds through them without one single hiccup. If you are seeing bad reviews you are likelh reading OLD reviews. Both of our takedowns and everyone I ha e seen has had a colored chamber, you know the part that some of you...

So will we get a shipping notice E-mail? No clue. I left the company a few months ago - I was just trying to be helpful with what I do know. This was one of my favorite projects and I honestly think it's a cool product, so I kinda like talking about it. I was never involved with any of the online o...

Re: 3D Models for firearms parts?

Yea, that's nothing to do with the design. Evidence of the firearm working, even temporarily, proves the design is fine. Besides, that's not even an issue that needs visited - there are tons of milspec receiver drawings out there, and gun enthusiasts 3d modelers and CAD folk have had accurate drawin...

BTW the local coverage of this is zip...nothing in either NOLA or BR paper. I only heard of it this morning because of bayoushooter.com - but people there are news crawlers and gossipers like most internet forums are wont to have. Aside from the fact that often times there are often people online w...

Re: LA town evacuated over explosives stockpile

Wow. I remember having to read the specs on explosives storage when we were building some powder magazines before... it's detailed, thorough, and freaking intimidating to read through the requirements and repercussions for failing to properly store. That's just willful negligent criminal behavior ri...

So I guess these "socially selfish" preppers can look forward to having their supplies confiscated for the collective good if the SHTF. Yea, I saw nothing in that article to support that in any fashion whatsoever - let some sunshine through that tinfoil. I've seen a handful of my "prepper" friends ...

Re: The All Purpose AK Thread

I didn't watch but about 1/3 of the video because I was bored, but that looks cool. I wouldn't mind having an "overbuilt" AK but it's worth note that those receivers have two down sides: 1) Weight - that looks like a lot more mass. 2) Unservicable - monolithic trunnions means that if you want a diff...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

Alright, I'm looking at 300AAC barrels. They seem to be hard to find, and quality can be an issue, based on reviews. I'm looking at MidwayUSA right now and it seems the two quality barrels are made by AAC, Noveske, and Wilson Combat. Their prices, though, are about $450, $350, and $200. I'm not abo...

It's not all that impressive if you don't have the same internal ballistics behind it, or the rifled barrel to match the bullet and get that pressure to turn into velocity.

I don't know how much you know about American chemistry applicability, but there are places around here that hire chemistry grads for vitamin enrichment of cereals. There's a place in semi-rural Louisiana like that, where land isn't terribly expensive and the State's motto/nickname is "Sportsman's P...

Well why don't you go ahead and do it then? All I got from reading your reply was flashbacks of your PDW thread. Everyone's telling you why your idea is wrong, but you just say," blablabla but I'm trying to be a game changer don't tell me what's right!" We all think your AR plan is super cool, but ...
