Riptides and You

(Posted in two parts due to limitations of the shitty phone I am posting from). The weather is getting warm around here, which means that many folks will be headed to the beach for some fun in the sun. Sadly, it also means that many folks will end up croaking. Many of these deaths are due to drownin...

Re: Top of the Heap

His grip tightened on his brown paper lunchbag, and a sheen of sweat broke out on his brow. He approached the breakroom door, and took a breath to steady himself before opening it to reveal-an empty room. Morris, relieved, sat down in a stiff plastic chair. He opened up his lunchbag and smiled to hi...

Re: Top of the Heap

Morris was startled from his lurid daydream by the sound of Bob's labored breathing. Bob was Morris' direct supervisor, and a finalist in the "Who Wants to Have a Heart Attack" competition, if there were such a thing. He was in his late forties, balding, and about fifty pounds overweight. He reeked ...

Re: Top of the Heap

There were a number of e-mails awaiting Morris' attention when he logged into his workstation. The most urgent of these was one from Kay in Accounting, requesting a copy of a presentation. He found himself idly daydreaming about Kay...imagining her firm bosoms and the way her hindquarters seemed to ...

Re: Top of the Heap

Morris' cubicle was neatly kept. As he sat down in his ergonomic chair, he reached over and pressed a finger to the soil in the decorative terra cotta pot that housed his African Violet. Moist. No need to water it today. While his violet grew well under the flourescent lights of SmithTech, indeed th...

re than a few seconds. He didn't want to look suspicious, like a car thief or mischief maker. Though he could technically afford a car payment, he worried about losing his job, or becoming disabled, or contracting a debilitating disease. Who would pay the car note then? Morris drove out of his neighborhood, careful to stay within four miles per hour of the posted speed limit. He glanced at the cassette player in the console of his car. It had nor worked for the better part of five years. A cassette was permanently stuck inside of it. As best he could recall, Morris...

I apologize for lack of paragraphs. I am posting this from a cellular phone, and it renders me unable to insert paragraph breaks. I will not be offended if you mentally insert them. More to come.

Top of the Heap

Morris woke at 6:04 am, as he had every weekday of his working life. He gently pressed the large button atop his alarm clock to shut off the buzzer. Gently- because it wasn't sleepiness or aggravation that he felt upon hearing it's droning, but rather resignation. He went to the bathroom, urinated e...

Re: strangest thing you have ever seen

Saw a homeless dude yelling angrily at the broken microwave he was pushing down the street in a baby stroller. Oddly enough, this is fairly normal behavior in the particular side of town it occured in.

There are many ways to draw, but only one way to rock. Don't believe me? Ask Sammy Hagar. Whats Sammy gonna do? Ask David Lee Roth and Eddie? Fuck Van Hagar. Where do you stand on the Journey debate? Was Steve Perry the voice of Journey, or can they keep the wheel in the sky turning with the new si...

Right and left hand should meet right of center (left wrist just past gig line), just above belly button. 5. Left thumb should immediately go to flip/check safety. 6. You should now have sight picture, read...

I carry a LCR. Im trusting the pocket holster, the heavy trigger pull of my revolver, and a little common sense to keep me from getting a bullethole in my no-no zone. I say youre just fine.
