Re: Show and Tell thread, Longarm edition

Why are you holding your rifle like that? I have never seen someone not put their thumb behind the pistol grip before. That looks uncomfortable as shit. http://i953.photobucket.com/albums/ae15/NorrisUnleashed/Picture0042.jpg My rifle has a monsterman grip on it. I live in CA. It was either that or ...

Re: Mini 14, Haters Gonna' Hate.

I own an AR15 but would not recommend it to anyone who wasn't professionally trained to maintain it. LolWut? Anybody can learn how to perform basic maintenance on an AR in about 10 minutes. Granted, I know an idiot who thinks the gas key on his AR10 is where he puts the lube in, but still. Seriousl...

Re: Mini 14, Haters Gonna' Hate.

Every time I hold a SU-16 I feel like Im gonna break it. I hear that they are durable. It lightweight enough for backpacking, but I cant trust a gun that feels less durable than my sons BB gun.

Re: Mini 14, Haters Gonna' Hate.

Also, just like every other Mini 14 thread, I would like to point out that I was charged by a boar and I killed it with a Mini 14 (my uncles many years before I owned mine) so yeah, you can use em as a defense rifle. If you couldn't I would not be writing this post. I assume the walking dead go down...

Re: Mini 14, Haters Gonna' Hate.

I wrote earlier that I might own another mini. But I remembered that I would like to have a Springfield armory M1A. Boss. http://www.hyattgunstore.com/images/P/main-1868.jpg One of the things I loved about the mini was the classic action. Why not just buy the real thing if I already have a 5.56 rifle?

Re: Mini 14, Haters Gonna' Hate.

I had a mini for years, and I wound up selling it for my AR fund. All and all Im glad I did, if for no other reason than the ease of replacing parts/cleaning. The accuracy is better but not in the extreme. Someday down the road I will own another mini. I do love my AR though. EDIT: Mags are way chea...

Now I have looked and looked but I cant find a SilTarp in woodland camo with similar dimensions. Im assuming thats because poncho shelters ...

Re: Moving to a city- HELP!

I know nothing about that AO exactly but when I moved to a medium city (Fresno CA,) I found that by extending my commute by 30 minutes made all the difference in the world. My brother lived in an apartment in downtown Fresno but I went to a smaller town on the outskirts of Fresno and lived there for...

I have been considering this for a while, http://www.coldsteel.com/irishblackthorn.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I think it holds a more practical purpose on top of bashing skulls. Also at 37" inches in length it could be used to support your shelter. Re: Civilian VS Military Gear - Pics included

I see what knightoftheroc is saying but when I think about it all I can think of is this one time while hiking/wheeling I came across several tents and trucks all covered in camo net. It was nowhere near hunting season so I was like "WTF is going on here". Im not gonna say I was scared outa my mind....

I use all three. Mostly mil spec stuff. Like my Kelty pack is a civi company but it covered in PALS webbing. Im not crazy about camo but I am very serious about earth tones as mentioned above. Also at times you cant beat the price on USGI stuff if you shop around. For backpacking, hunting, and bug o...

First off, your a dick for making me think of Copenhagen. Now I really want a pinch. Second, get a stove. Preferably one that works on the same fuel as the rig you ride around in. Mine is a brunton vapor. http://www.backpackgeartest.org/reviews/Cook%20Gear/Stoves/Brunton%20Vapor%20AF%20Stove/Test%20...

Also I have learned that S&W makes a similar revolver that comes with moon-clips to use .45 ACP. Now that is cool. Im still not buying one, but it is really cool.
