Re: xd mag question
Vyadmirer is right about factory mags. For hi-cap pistols like the XD and Glock, it's best to stick with OEM factory magazines. Try CHEAPER THAN DIRT, CABELA'S and BROWNELLS. They all list factory mags for the XD in their catalogs and you should be able to check their online stores to see if they're...

Re: xd mag question
Don't worry about it, there's nothing wrong with your mag. Most any hi-cap staggered magazine will "rattle" when fully or almost fully loaded. It's just that at a random point you have two rounds on one side of the staggered stack making harder contact and allowing the one between them on the other ...

Re: What would you reccomend?
I think it's a limited edition version of a Marlin 1895. I have an LE 1894 MARLIN .44 with the same B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L laminated stock.............Nope, you're right. It is an SBL. Still, it looks more like a Davidson's special than a regular production gun.

How about paintball? Go shoot that pock-marked 14 year old brat who's parents just bought him a $1500 LUX paintball marker.

Re: ugly animals... Name some.
ARMADILLOS!!! You shoot the damn thing with a .44 magnum and blow his guts all over your flowerbed and he jumps three foot straight up then hits the ground running and makes it about 100 yards. Just far enough to make it under your neighbors utility shed. Then two days later you see Bob and he tells...

Re: For those who doubt the power of one man and a bolt action
I think all bolt guns should be banned. The people who use those inhumane things, especially the modern ones, tend to shoot at you from soooo far away that you have no chance to spot them before they pull the trigger...... And that's NOT fair!!! And plastic spoons, ban them too, for good measure. :D

Re: .45 LC how does it stack up?
Elmer Keith could hit a 55 gallon drum at 500 yards with his .44 magnum revolver. I'm still having trouble hitting that 5 gallon bucket at 25.

Re: What would you reccomend?
The late, great Col. Jeff Cooper said if you could only own one rifle it should be a .308 (7.62NATO). And the ammo is almost as prevalent worldwide as the 7.62x39 Russian as many countries still field the FAL and G3. As for one under a grand there are plenty of bolt guns, the afore mentioned Rem 740...

Re: Truck gun
Clint Smith says "my pistol is used to get me back to my vehicle. From there i can either get in and drive away or break out the truck gun." I don't know about having a truck gun in an urban environment unless you think you might get caught up in a North Hollywood or New Orleans/Katrina situation. B...

Re: Truck gun
Stand back while i whip this Brownells catalog out.......They list shotgun ghostring sight sets made by PSI, MMC, Sage Intl., Scattergun Tech, Trijicon & XS Sight Systems. The prices are averaging around $150. You could get an IC barrel with rifle sights for most pump guns for that price.

Re: .45 LC how does it stack up?
I have two Ruger .44 mags, a Blackhawk hunter and a 7.5" Redhawk. I've tried a dozen different loads and lighter spring kits and i'm lucky to hit a 5 gallon bucket at 25 yards with either. But here's the rub, I also have two Ruger .45LCs, a 5.5" Bisley and a 4 5/8" Vaquero. With the heavy 250 gr. lo...

Re: Time for more venting! Waiting for my CCL
Fingerprints? Classes? I feel for you guys. CCW permits here in By God Alabama are "shall issue" but each individual county sheriff sets the price. Here in Baldwin county it's $30 annually but you get a picture card that can also be used for an I.D. It takes about 5-10 minutes and there are currentl...

Re: Mutilating a Glock
As long as you're having somebody like ROBAR or CCM doing the shortening, have them dye the frame tan or grey so you don't have a black grip bleeding through a thin light colored t-shirt if carrying IWB.

Re: Pistol caliber carbine options?
I had a SUB-2000 in .40 cal. Didn't care for the sights. I mounted a Rem 870 saddle scope mount on the fore stock and slapped on a cheap red dot and impressed myself by how accurate it really was. (Of course you couldn't fold it any more.) My only complaint was the metal tube butt stock would "bite"...

Re: Mutilating a Glock
Have you felt a compact with a full size mag with a grip extension attached? I've shot a P10 with a P14 mag w/ grip extension and an XD compact with a full size mag and grip extension and didn't care for either. They both worked but there was just enough gap between the bottom of the frame and the g...

Re: Mutilating a Glock
If financially possible, get both. I carry a 3" Kimber during T-shirt season and a 5" Kimber during sweater season.
