Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)
One thing that was implied in this video, but not expressly discussed: hiding at least some your firearms outside of your home (if circumstances allow) following the initial declaration of martial law. I'm often beating this drum, but (mostly) for a more mundane reason. Often my friends poo-poo the...

Re: So, you want to buy some body armor but haven't a clue?
UHMWPE, last I checked (2018?), is sensitive to heat..... .....I feel like I've seen combined ceramic/UHMWPE, and that sounds like a good combo to me, but I think they are expensive. my research matches your own. UHMWPE is just longer chains of molecules than milk jugs from my understanding, and th...

just heard from a buddy in another state; he said he managed to get some of the botach plates in a restock today, got 2 of the last 3 plates in stock 45 minutes after the restock email went out. So while everything is OOS right now if you are fast you can still probably get some.

Re: What WILL/DID you do with that stimulus check? (Round 2)
my income has gone up considerably since the last stimulus check (feels weird to say) and I'm having trouble thinking of more cracks to fill in my preps. I hurried and scurried at the start of Covid and bolstered my food supplies and most little things I'd been putting off; since I haven't really us...

Re: Zombie Squad: Tiny House edition?
car haulers and other large cargo trailers have always been appealing to me for building out; but I had "vacation house/emergency BOL" in mind more than primary dwelling, so my math would be quite a bit different. Since they are a nice perfect quadrilateral most of the time insulating with foam shee...

Re: So, you want to buy some body armor but haven't a clue?
I've spent a good amount of time researching cheap armor and the various low-budet options; I'm willing to take a lot of risks in regard to armor that most people seem to find a bit scary but here is my take: -Old as dirt police surplus soft vests still stop bullets. I used to be able to get them fo...

Re: Zombie Squad: Tiny House edition?
I think propane is the wisest fuel to standardize on for cooking, heating and water. I can't imagine getting a custom trailer built could beat a used one, but I haven't compared prices. Quotes are in order, but I just know what people in the US tend to like to earn for their labor vs. what people te...

Re: The State of Oregon is on Fire
Been talking with some friends and relatives back in Oregon; I couldn't say whether some of the fires were intentionally set or not, but the feeling on the ground is that they are and that the local LEO response has been lacking. Supposedly 8 fires were set in my home county last night, and rumor is...

one for M193 and one for M855 I'm curious about this, what is the thought process for using one over the other in any given situation? Personally my favorite for GI aluminum magazines is the 200rd SAW pouch; fits 12 magazines in an incredibly small footprint, only carries 8-10 pmags but they are ve...

Re: The New & Improved, "What have you done to your AR today" thread
The ambi safety I'm kinda on the fence about. I'm right-handed and so is my wife, but we do have southpaw friends and it is nice to be able to see the status of the safety easily no matter which side is up when it's on the shooting bench. Unfortunately, in the fire position it rubs on my trigger fi...

Re: Portland Violence
But looters and rioters don't attack private homes. They don't attack community centers. In Minneapolis, there was a small independent bookstore that was untouched. All the blocks around it were basically looted or even leveled, burned down. And that store just remained untouched through weeks of r...

I saw an explicit claim today that the AR belonged to a friend (that was named) and no state line crossing occurred. If I can find an official version of this claim I'll try to post a link.

The story has been updated - From NPR : Illinois Teen Arrested After 3 Shot, 2 Fatally, In Kenosha, Wis., Overnight If the third person shot is the one I'm thinking it is, dude might end up losing his right arm due to the damage sustained when he tried to attack the kid while he was down. The damag...

Police scanner apps can be useful; you can listen in to places outside the range of radio scanners.

Re: The Coming Civil War - (Warning: No Politics)
While overall crime is down, I'm hearing reporting that homicides in particular are up. Is anyone else hearing the same? Could the protests alone account for the difference (for instance in my nearest metro area the 40% increase only amounts to 12 cases in the absolute sense) or is this indicative o...

Welp, except for an NFAC member having a negligent discharge that wounded three of her fellow "Not F*cking Around Coalition" militia members, things apparently weren't too terrible in Louisville. From what little reporting I saw it looked like everything went darn smoothly; police and EMS respondin...

If "de-funding" kicks off in earnest or otherwise things kick off to a higher level, I expect our world to look a little different. The article below is informative: https://news.yahoo.com/amphtml/special-report-drug-cartel-narco-110728469.html Fascinating. I continue to find Mexico educational, an...

"weaponized cars" are an interesting phenomena I have not quite gathered my thoughts on. After Nice France, and Toronto Canada, it seemed the genie was out of the bottle, in sort of a "why hasn't anyone thought of this before?" sort of way. I have retreated a bit from the news, but in general that t...

Re: Bow vs air rifle for shtf/prepping?
The few airguns I have seen in person where very finicky, and hardly ever got two shots off in a row. while I hear tails of reliable airguns that will hunt mid-sized game, they remain hypothetical to me. Most of the bow technology these days goes into compound bows; these require modern arrows to my...

In a show of force they are closing businesses (including those who filed lawsuits against CHOP) by not allowing anyone into the “secured area” local news teams that were on scene during the 3rd wave...

Would that not be discussing illegal activity? I don't intend to fall into that trap. If we couldn't discuss illegal activity we couldn't discuss home invasions, muggings, or most kinds of civil unrest. What the rule says is 1.) No discussion of illegal activities as a viable option. Talking about ...

How wide do you guys that use this stuff set the mag pouches apart?
