Re: Food choices for your B.O.B.
One thing I keep in my EDC/GHB that I haven't seen on here is hardtack. I know it's a bit old-school but I always have jerky and hardtack in my bag along with various other things. Maybe it's just the pirate in me. Seriously though, it's good for quick energy should I need it but it's unappetizing ...

This is what I have and I like it a lot. It has three pockets that you can fill once you open it up. Is molle compatiable, has a carrying handle and a sling on it. The zippers are good as well. Plus its only about 20 bucks.

Actually I was talking about the one that ties to the tree or post, the one that you can pull to make tighter. Slip knot is it? Just want to make sure.

Re: Ever practice bugging out in the dark?
That works. No doubt about it. But I need to travel ten miles every night in order to reach my BOL in 72 hours during a SHTF. The "slow but sure" method will probably only take me a couple of miles per night. That's not going to cut it. I need that night vision equipment or I'll have to be a lit ho...

Re: Ever practice bugging out in the dark?
One final thought. While hiking with my headlamp I felt very vulnerable. I could be seen for blocks by any freak who wished me ill. Since I had always planned on traveling at night in a PAW , this was a real slap in the face wake up call. There is nothing wrong with planning on traveling in the dar...

Second a comment I saw the pic of the tent and said boy that looks a lot like the barracks at Cherry Point and then looked at where you were from and saw J-Vegas so I was not too far off. You know, its funny you said that about cherry point. I was thinking the same thing about the barracks until I ...

Re: Water woes for me and my..... Misses
This is kind of on topic. I was at the uniform store on base here and found something ive never seen before. If you have a camelback they now have a filter that fits onto it. You can just fill up the camelback from wherever while in the field and the filter automatically filters the water as you dri...

Re: Are Vampires a type of Zombie?
Facts about Vampires: Contrary to popular belief and movie and modern book crap, Vampires are not affected by the sun, at Dawn they have the strength of a normal man, at noon they have the strength of two men, at evening they have the strength of four men at Dusk they are at full strength, they don...

What is a good reputable online site to buy from? I would assume that there are many sites out there that would be considered untrustworthy.

Pop tarts were mentioned. I found that unless you have them in a hard case container or some other way to protect them, there not worth the mess. Once they get a little crunched in the bag its just a big bag of crumbs.

Re: What gortex liner, socks, gloves will keep me warm when wet?
Just a thought on the Gortex and wool. In S. Korea many of the tailor shops would sew a thick wool liner that could be zippered in and out. I never did it but it always looked like a good idea.

I read it while I was on duty last night. Great book I have to say. Was it just my copy or did some of the sentences seem to abrubtly end? Plus the way the book ended was kind of a let down but over all it was a great book. Just hated the fact that I kept getting interrupted by other stuff that was ...

Re: Looking for opinions on Spec Ops Brand THE Bag
I've been wanting to get one in coyote, but also see the Recon Ruck mentioned is in both CB and OD. Question though is if it has an internal pocket for holding a hydration bladder. Says it's compatible with ALICE ruck frames, which is a plus, but it doesn't look like it has enough webbing to accept...

Another way to do it is to feed them the egg shells from the eggs you get. They eat them as well.
