Re: movement upon contact

AK touches the point I was trying to make earlier, but, in usual fashion, I rambled. How you react is FAR different as a civilian than as .mil. Military, you agress-you are there to bring the pain. When you make contact, you do what you trained to do, and thats that. Not all decisions are good-no re...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Off Topic-Watertown was where we saw the film :). On Topic-so...as I havent read the GNs as of yet, beyond the first 3, where, exactly, does Michonne fit in? I read up to the prison, and the "incident" with the prisoners, but havent gotten beyond there. Not looking for spoilers, just curious is Mich...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Majorhavoc, you and I see eye to eye-I wasnt meant to be seen as calling you out. And, to anyone, again, that has negative things to say about it-thats perfectly fine too. If you dont like, it, you dont like it. Kirkman purposely wrote it different from the GN, so its fresh for EVERYONE. If you dont...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

MH, the issue I have with that quote is this: movies condense all the action into a nice little 1.5 hr package. Series need to drag it out. Think Battlestar Galactica; that series drug on too. It was a GOOD series, but the plot had some weak points (and some general confusion on my end, at times too...

Re: movement upon contact

Just as an aside-I once has a 1SG told me there is no such thing as "no cover". Effective fire, violence of action-even in the open-is cover. Its kind of hard to shoot back at someone who is bent on sending hate your way, effectively. Bullets are your cover, until you can get to something that will ...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

My predictions for this weekend: Maggie bites it (pun TOTALLY intended!!!). This will strengthen both Glenn and Herschel as characters. And, drive the plot in a completely different direction, setting Herschel, and his remaining group, up to leave the farm. T-Dawg HOPEFULLY develops more. I REALLY d...

Re: Cross trainers

I just bought a pair of NB runners from Sears, on sales, for $20-marked down from $110. Here is what I find with running shoes: People find a brand they like, and stick with it. Me, New Balance have always fit my feet best, and most consistently. Dont buy the highest end shoes you find-new drivers d...

Re: Need war belt holster.

I have a Safariland low ride holster, the one Haji is speaking of (recommended from both him & my brother on another forum). I love it. I tried the leg drop, hated it. Went right back to my Safariland ALS one too (it comes with a hood, which was promptly removed). I MAY even have a pic of it-let me ...

Re: What prep(s) are you LEAST proud of?

Sorry I read the thread but couldn't think of anything until duo posted. My worst preps are my paperwork. I have all our important paperwork set and ready to take with us if need be, but I don't have a will, I don't have a plan for anyone else to know what to do with the paperwork I have ready. I r...

Re: movement upon contact

TL:DR all the comments, but I wanted to throw my hat in the ring. 15 years as a grunt, I tell you what; thats 15 years of hitting the dirt & returning fire. BUT-this is because you are agressing, and EXPECTING contact (thats your job, after all). However, in a civilian situation, that doesnt wash-be...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

I would like to know what happend to Morganand Merle. Do you think that they will bring them back into the show? Doubtful. If Morgan ever made it to ATL, he is likely dead. Merle, well, he will not be back...maybe as a dream, but I doubt in real life. I think both of them were written off, and we w...

Re: Help Narrowing Down CCW Choice

I voted the M&P. My first intro to this series was the 9c. Personally, I didnt like it-BUT, I think a large part of this was due to my failure to be able to handle it correctly. I carried it for a little over a year, then went to the full size M&P 9. Not once did I experience failures with either pi...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

Shane will be dead before the season ends. My prediction, it will end at the prison-either them just getting there, or one of the first few days they are there. the whole prison sequence is just too much of the story to gloss over.

Re: M&P15- 22 vs. SR-22R

I'd say just get a 15-22 now and later build the full AR. You'll be happy you have both in the future without swapping around parts. That's exactly what I did last year. Couldn't be happier. I am gonna third this. I have a dedicated 22, and a dedicated 223. The upside of this is that he can learn t...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

I read the other day that Darabont wanted to start season 2 off with a flashback episode showing some Army Rangers dropping into Atlanta and having a full-on battle to try and take back the city. Slowly, as they begin to get overwhelmed and unit cohesion starts to break down, it turns into an "ever...

Re: When you see someone with 5.11 Gear or any brand Name Ge

I havent worn a pair of jeans since before 2000. Seriously. I have worn cargo pants, of one sort or another, or dress pants, as appropriate, and stay away from jeans. For me, its just choice-I like pockets. I havent put a wallet in a back pocket in I dont know HOW long. I wear 5.11 pants-I wore them...

Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

I wish they would give Daryl more development. He is my favorite and the one I would want with me. Not emotional, great at survival and killing walkers, and seems to be a good guy at heart (last episode he was hurting over the kid being killed and no one even cared). Despite his crappy start, he is...

Re: Any recommendations for antibiotic and painkiller stockp

Antibiotics are prescription meds. And, they have expirations. Stockpiling antibiotics is unwise, and likely illegal. There is no "general" antibiotic to give someone-they all do different things, and someones immune system may, or may not, react properly to the drug. Giving someone penicillin for a...

BTW: Notice how many people just open a door with out checking to see who it is or asking who's there. On that note, always keep your body (and if armed, weapon) clear of the door's path when you do open it. I've read of home invasions that begin with the bad guy smashing into the door as soon as i...

Re: Looking for a Chest Rig

I have a Condor chest rig, that I use on a regular basis, but I have Tactical Tailor pouches on it. The rig is simple enough, and I havent run into any issues with it as yet. I havent run it extremely hard yet though, just some normal range stuff. TT I trust, and have used extensively. My suggestion...
