Re: Does everyone's kit match in your household?

So I bit the bullet and ordered the bag of choice from a german backpacking site this morning, but only one. If I like it, I will order a second later.

Re: Does everyone's kit match in your household?

I BO'd here recently. What I found was: I don't have a "...i just need to get a hotel room for a few days..." bag. I ended up with core needs, & a lot of things I didn't need. 1/50th U$D. That's the purpose of the "Urban BOB" in my signature, the 20L bag I'm referring to. It's a change of clothes, ...

Does everyone's kit match in your household?

I'm thinking about changing my bug out bag. The bag I have is great in size* at 20L (tactical tailor removable operator pack). The bag was built by me for me to evac my apartment building with nothing on, preparing for worst case scenario, leaving in the middle of the night, stark naked. My wife has...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

Thanks guys. I'll wade through the US dealers list. Neither botach or walmart have the SW TAC 25 listed. Maybe it's too new. Seems a perfect balance for the size of bug out bag and grey man without compromising on tactical features I love in other bags.

Re: Good loaded mag grab & go storage?

Any other kit you want with those? I'm browsing some of the tactical rolling luggage options out there right now (5.11, maxpedition), maybe with wheels. Considering something to hold plate carriers, mags, and maybe long guns. Currently, I have a golf shoe bag set up with mags for all of my bug out g...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

A little off topic; can anyone recommend a stocking Tasmanian Tiger dealer in the states? Looking at a new bug out bag, no one seems to have it in Canada and none of the dealers I've contacted have gotten back to me. I've heard one good review on ordering direct, that may be the way I go, but consid...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

Why won't the 20 round Red Star mag go in the Norinco? It is maxing my patience out. :x I am watching YT vids and going around the webz but I just cannot get the trigger group back in. I think I got the mag seated, but the TG just wont go. I'd say check for some binding or make sure the receiver is...

Do you have problems with rampaging herds of rabid elephants? Maybe a white whale causing you problems? Phoenix Weaponry has the rifle for you: an AR-pattern rifle in .45-70 Auto ! What's .45-70 Auto, you ask? Well, it's just everyone's favorite shoulder-breaker--.45-70 Gov't--with the base necked ...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I got that wingmaster on the milling machine week before last and undercut the feeding port. Just finished polishing out tooling marks and cold blueing everything. Still plan to sell this off, don't know when I'll stop working on it though. Might get the internals frictionless coated, I still want t...

The best pen?

That makes me SOL - I carry a pencil. Two actually.
Pencils have their place. There's one in my BOB for sure. But some things demand ink.

Best Rite in the Rain pen?

I keep a rite in the rain bound notebook in my INCH bag, and a spiral notebook in my BOB. I have one all-weather pen in the INCH bag, a nite-ize/inka mobile. Screw on caps, stylus on one end and pen on the other. I want to add another pen to my BOB and wondering what everyone else is using. I like p...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

Trying out a Streamlight HL-X light and Cloud Defensive pressure switch mount combo. Liking it so far, and its a bit cheaper than a similar Surefire set-up.....which is nice, cause I'll probably end-up swapping out the simple Surefire G2/Cree light set-ups I have on several other guns for this one....

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

I think I'm going to convert my gun safe to at least a dual-action electrical/mechanical combo lock. The safe itself is fine, and the lock's OK...when it's got a working 9v battery. However, it's the only thing I have which requires one of those, and the spare battery (in the fridge) is also dead. ...

Greetings from Toronto. Happy to see new usernames signing in, and there's no time like today to get started in the prepping game, and if you learn from others on this forum, you don't have to make all the mistakes yourself! I visited Vegas two years ago, loved a lot of things about it, but it will ...

Re: Firearms CHAT: [insert chat title here]

So the new (to me) wingmaster showed up yesterday. I've never bought such a dirty gun. The bolt assembly and carrier were coated in a yellowish film that scrapes off. Probably a dried on oil, but reminds me of a nicotine stain. It's still a good frame and components. I'm not a fan of the knoxx top f...

I've had them on other firearms. When folded it adds SO much bulk.

Re: Best AK Chest Rig

HSGI tacos will hold every mag you throw in them. 5.56, 7.62x39, 7.62x51. Blue Force Gear tenspeed pouches will hold a lot of things, are much lighter, (lighter than the attachment strap of most molle pouches) but don't stretch as far as tacos. BFG is also more difficult to perform (re)insertion, so...
