Re: New FULL-AUTO, TRANSFERABLE Sterling L2A3 SMG's

I've done a post sample sterling but not a suppressed variant. Did you port the barrel or crop it shorter? I'm about to do an integral sten mk III because I have several unused kits. I have a good idea of how I intend to do it but I'm always open to input from others.

Re: Poisoned & Infected Bullets?

And making or possessing poison is highly unlawful. It get really real if you make a chemical weapon. I think a quick trip through just about any hardware store would prove that wrong. And I have to add that I'm amazed this thread hasn't been nuked some time ago given that it violates some of the s...

Lots of uppers come without bolt carrier groups and charging handles. Not sure of PSA is like that or not as I usually go with BCM.

Re: Food's done, now to protect it... Questions

Yeah, as was mentioned I wouldn't go with the .22 kits as was mentioned. The twist rate for most .22s is 1 in 16 and not the 1 in 7 of most ARs. Plus with the conversion kits the bullet has to jump a few inches before it gets to the rifling anyway. As was mentioned, okay for weapon handling training...

Re: Poisoned & Infected Bullets?

Creating poison bullets isn't all that hard and there are all kind of poisons that could be used. Outside of assassinations there are few instances where I could imagine this might be worth the effort. None of those instances are in any way practical outside of a creative writing class but it is pos...

Re: Food's done, now to protect it... Questions

I'd give some thought to the .22lr ARs over the 10/22. I am a fan of them but if your fighting gun is going to be an AR this will support proper training. Most importantly though is that the adjustable length of pull stock will allow the kids to fit the gun to their size as they grow. There will be ...

Re: Ammo purchase thoughts and questions.

I think you should find out what you have before you try to decide what it is you need to do. In fact I'd say thats painfully obvious. I'd also have to say I think that, while creative, the idea of using the dogs as resupply couriers during a fight is foolish. Have you provided training to the dogs?...

While I'd generally prefer an AR of I were looking to buy in that price range I'd buy an AK. Ive had a few minis and I've long since given up on them.

Re: 7.62x51 How much is to much or how little is not enough

I don't see that happening. We don't surplus our ammo these days. We spend millions of dollars to destroy it rather than sell it on the US market. At best the overrun may be sold before it enters the system but that will be shortlived and roughly at current market value. If any ever were to reach th...

Re: 7.62x51 How much is to much or how little is not enough

You mentioned in the OP that you may be involved in firefights. If that were to happen you will either A) be able to scavange weapons and ammo off the enemy after the firefight or B) not be needing food, water, or shelter ever again. :( A stockpile of ammo is great, but 20k rounds seems pretty exce...

Re: Suppressors?

With the right adapter you can use a 7.62 suppressor on 5.56 without issue. It will be larger and heavier and not quite as quiet as a decent 5.56 can. As for service life... you probably can't afford enough ammo to kill it. My Uzi suppressor had about 275,000 rounds through it before we sent it back...

Re: 7.62x51 How much is to much or how little is not enough

There are only two times when it is possible to have too much ammunition; when you are on fire or whenyou are trying to swim. It is definately possible to have too little and ots also possible to stock it in an irresponsible manner. If you are failing to meet other obligations due to your buying tha...

Regular Guy, hate to tell you this but you need to check a few things because much of what you posted is wrong. I don't have the time to type it all up right now but as a type 07/02 FFL I have done this sort of thing for years.

I have a few ideas for optics but I still don't have a clue as to the original posters intent. I'd hate to suggest a 1-4x if it won't fit his idea of hos intended use. Im becoming a fan of the 1-4x for general defensive/3 gun stuff but overall I still favor the Aimpoint for that. Neither would be id...

Re: AR 15 optics

How come no one uses the "All Purpose" threads anymore? 8-) If I had to guess I'd say its because few people want to wade through 34 pages of shit to find the 3-8 posts that may actually be useful. Honestly, do you actually do that? If it were up to me those "all purpose" threads would be closed or...

Re: Advice to new CCW permit holders: Part 2 - Carry like a

I've always thought the best training for lawful concealed carry is to carry illegally for a few years. Not that I am condoning any criminal activity, it's just that the threat of criminal charges is a strong motivator to be discrete. I've seen far too many people carrying covered but not concealed....

Re: Adding 12G Flares to Load-Out

In your original post you said that the downside would be that carrying 2 flares would cause you to remove two slug or birdshot that could be used for self defense. I would say that you have two problems here. One is that you want your shotgun to be a rifle and two is you seem to think a game load h...

Re: Folding Stock for Saiga 12?

If you end up shortening the barrel you will need to modify the gas system some for it to run reliably. We have cut them down to as little as 13 inches and gotten them to run right. I wouldn't cut it that short as it gets tricky but 15 inches or so is east enough to make run. Shorter than 13 and you...

Re: Folding Stock for Saiga 12?

There are folding stock/pistol grip combinations out there that don't require modification to the receiver at all. Don't. Remember who makes one offhand though. I always thought they made the gun overly long since the trigger is way back at the rear of the receiver bit you may be able to field a gun...

I hope you don't start munching down on MREs in a water or basic hygiene limited environment without weaning yourself onto them because with an abrupt change in diet will have you in the crapper all day or constipated for a long time. People who eat MREs exclusively are well aware of these issues. ...
