Re: Livin' for the Apocalypse

Typical hit piece. They show the family with the seven kids, storing food, talking about bomb shelters, stuff like that. Then, they throw in the religious angle- "He stood out in the yard, in a tornado, held up his hand, and said, "Lord, please don't take my house", when the winds sidestepped the h...

Re: Livin' for the Apocalypse

Third family has ALWAYS been about self promotion. The garden pool youtube channel is all about showing them on the news, hardly any helpful videos and rarely answers questions.

Re: Livin' for the Apocalypse

I have few comments off the top..... The first couple - the ones with 7 kids - they seemed to be on the level with an impressive setup. The second ones - the 2012 nuts had a great setup but this idea of a pending 2012 disaster is ridiculous to say the least. My big question is about the old ladies ...

Re: Livin' for the Apocalypse

I think the only knocking is on the last segment and I'm almost ready to call bullshit on that. Seems something out of the Book of Eli with those two lol. I don't care if people think that fairies are coming to rape our brains through our eyeballs apocalypse. If that gets them prepping, so be it. I ...

Re: Livin' for the Apocalypse

Actually pretty good so far, even the Mcclungs aren't acting too nuts in it. This one is being done much better than the Nat Geo. Nat Geo made it look paranoid etc. This one is focusing on the preps. The last family who I have nicknamed the purple people eaters are up next....which will...be....odd?

Re: Livin' for the Apocalypse

I for one, am sick of these idiots volunteering their madness and making preppers look like crazed lunatics. So...I wrote TLC and let them know how real people feel about it. Of course I got the cookie cutter response about taking my comments under consideration.

And please don't underestimate any size storm. You can be hurt or killed quicker than you can say "It looks like it's letting up" when you let your guard down.

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Another crap growth report out, a lot of faith (too much in my opinion) being put in Bernie's speech today. Wouldn't be surprised to see the roller coaster of a week fly off the rails to end the day.

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Yup. Reality could set back in after ol' Bernie starts talking Friday...............He speaks, the dollar seems to drop .20 cents that day. It seems despite their wishes there is really nothing he can say that will be helpful. I would not factor more QE into any prices today, and I would be surpris...

Believe it or not, one of our banks was evacuated, wife was on a conference call when the other end had to be evacuated. Son at high school said he thought he was having muscle tremors LOL until he saw the board swaying.

Re: Doomsday and the availability of canning jars.

Jars are hit hard here too but plenty still to go around.

When I buy jars I buy them the same day I purchase seed etc then again when crops start breaking the ground. I had that mishap once in peak season I almost lost my green beans before some neighbors brought me a load.

Many economists argue about how we classify what a recession is. I feel the current classification is too narrow. Many will tell you it is slow regrowth, many will say we never left it.

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Don't all lets panic now... Most level headed thing I've read today: Usually, the dog wags the tail. Economic fundamentals shape financial market trends. But sometimes, financial panics or manias can be so pronounced that they distort the underlying fundamentals. For a while, the tail wags the dog....
