Re: Argument for purchasing food with cash

It's a good scenerio to wonder about but pretty much debunked at the moment. Personal calls to LDS says nada happened. The lvl govt I hear visited was the TN Dept Of Revenue and were looking for proper tax being paid (on cash sales) and two, anyone buying large amounts of sugar. It's moonshine seaso...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Meh...ignore the dark mood. I've spent a lot of times in the woods over the last month...and it gets harder and harder to come out of the mountain and back to this crap.

I apologize. (And in advance for the next time  )

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

I respectfully disagree the fed reserve have done the best they can. I base that on my own research and history of the members themselves along with the history since 2005. I agree they helped avoid a total meltdown, but I see that they actually waited until the last minute to act because they were ...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

I have a question, and I hope you gurus can help me understand something. As far as I can understand, the Fed can control inflation by two means: setting the interest rate and by requesting the Treasury to print more money. But what kind of inflationary controls are there on all of that non-corpore...

Pasta's rose .20 cents here, bread and flour unchanged. Beginning to wonder if we are getting the shaft here while other places see relief.

Re: Wheat Prices Plunging-High Stockpiles Ease Shortage

Not to rain on anyone's parade...but I'll believe it when I actually see it drop at the stores. Peanut butter alone the last couple of weeks went nuts along with everything else. It was only a month ago it was discussed the the U.S. weather conditions really screwed up the wheat production, Africa d...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Well....they didn't wait until tomorrow to announce they couldn't agree. No surprise, a waste of time even creating a "super committee". Waited to the last minute AGAIN, spent most of the time pointing fingers AGAIN. Now expect (in my opinion) another downgrade AGAIN. Sometimes I think it just needs...

Nukes are drastically reduced in space.
In the absence of an atmosphere, blast disappears completely.

If the thought is the rocket will hit it hard enough to alter the course, fine. Just a warhead isn't needed.....or justified IMO.

Re: Bloomberg: Jobs crisis could spark riots here (in USA)

No matter where you stand on the protests, this is crap. Summary: TN Gov imposes curfew, New policy requiring groups that rally to put in applications and pay fees to do so. I cannot remotely comment on this without going apeshit. http://www.johnsoncitypress.com/News/article.php?id=95354" onclick="w...

Re: Bloomberg: Jobs crisis could spark riots here (in USA)

Well I tried. I can only be left to assume no plans. Protests were in Knoxville, no idea if the Nashville protest happened yet or not. The Knoxville protest gave a lot of thumbs up to the Knoxville Police Dept for helping it run smooth. Granted it was slated for a one day event, with other days to c...

If (God forbid) the protests turned into a L.A. riot in your area (which I don't foresee) what is your plan? Bug out? Bug in? Doing it solo, group, mini community?

Re: Bloomberg: Jobs crisis could spark riots here (in USA)

I think it's funny a protest MUST be against dems or reps. Since when do you have to be one or another to be pissed at the hosing we take everyday? And if it started hippy, so be it....not hippy anymore. Just for the books, I'm not tea party, hippy (I'm kinda a Cartman about those), dem, or rep. I'm...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Many expect the Fed to reshift it's portfolio around. Nothing that anyone thinks will do a whole lot of good. Pretty much a ho hum reaction at the moment. Only so much the fed can really do. The issues at home have to be fixed or growth will be crap. Fed can't offer jobs, trade, anything like that....
