Re: Basic combat load

I think one of the posters above hit on it, but it's the mission or personal defense situation, and what you'll really be doing about it, that drives the "gear train," including your specific ammo requirements and choice of carrier set-up. The gear and ammo set-up of a guy in the Sand Box won't be t...

Re: New AR Project in Ohio

XRING06: you mentioned getting "training." Good for you. Most people who buy ARs, specifically the 16" carbines (and M4orgeries) don't think it important to make the time and spend the coin to learn the tactical skills needed to fight with these guns, even the basic skills. Shooting (marksmanship) i...

Re: "It's a Zombie gun, sir."

For Haji (and anyone else who actually trains with their rifle & gear): A quick couple of extra pics of the Wall drill from the same training course (an advanced carbine class): Here an instructor demos how NOT to spray the Wall and still get your optic ON target. Talk about HSLD - he's running a Su...

Re: "It's a Zombie gun, sir"

Thanks again, guys. Trent: the engraving was some custom work done by Ryan @ orion-arms.com. He's got "zombie" patterns/logos available for a look-see on the site. Ryan's a great guy to deal with, and back when I had him do it the turn-around was about 7 days, door-to-door. He's backed up a ways now...

Re: "It's a Zombie gun, sir"

On dump pouches, I always run at least one of the Maxpedition Rollies on the rig, and most times two. The pics don't show it here, but there's one fixed on this MAV behind my left kidney area. A lot of guys like the huge DPs, but for me the Rollies are sized just right. If I'm running two, I might k...

Re: "It's a Zombie gun, sir?"

Thanks, guys! Sorry I'm late getting back on some specific replies ... SamuraiBob: Haji nailed it on the chest rig: TT MAV unit, along with the X-Harness, and assorted 5.56mm pouches, etc. Like other guys you see at these classes, I went through several gear and rig "evolutions" before finding one t...
