Re: I need some advice from hunters.
Ive taken it out before. I think its 6 and a half pounds. I don't know how much the scope weighs. Like I said before its not a huge deal, I just want a heavier rifle so its less of a deal. Have you looked at a limbsaver buttpad or something similar, rather than losing money on the rifle? Or is this...

Re: I need some advice from hunters.
You must chose, sir - you are either in the 270 camp, or you're in the 30-06 camp. There is no mamby-pambying around with this, it will determine your fate moving forward.... Seriously either one would be fine. Overall, the 270 shoots flatter, but the 3006 can kill everything in NA. Half dozen, six...

What department would issue a Taurus? :gonk: And you're looking at an HK? That's like trading a Isuzu for a Mercedes. Almost all poly's out there are ambi now, so take your pick - M&P45, FN 45, Beretta's PX4 in 45, Springfield's XD/M in 45 - seriously, there's a bunch out there. Do some shopping... ...

Need some pro tips. Looking at swapping my Remington 788 for a Ruger Security Six. What should I be looking at on the Ruger? Obviously ensuring it cycles correctly, but what else? It was a blued gun, but the frame/barrel have been cerakoted. Also, you can fire a Security Six single action, correct?...

Re: Grabbed a re-curve.
I had a couple recurved in the 80's and 90's, and everyone I knew used the step-through method for stringing/destringing. Whats the problem there? I'm looking at getting another bow soon, and I'm wondering what has changed in the last 20 years? The step through method has a high chance of limb twis...

I like using neon colored zip ties for chamber flags. Did some force on force training with blowback airsoft Glocks today. What a rush. Those fuckers sting almost as much as sim rounds if you're close enough. I see the logic in using black bbs. Much harder to cheat and follow your shots. Never thou...

Re: Another nice larger Wolf Creek Forge striker knife.
Love it - way more utility with the larger size, and you just can't beat that look (I'm a sucker for metal work like that). Even the sheath looks well thought out - simple, elegant, functional. Can't beat that at all.

Re: What about an ice axe?
No. You don't want to use an ice axe for anything but ice. There are two different styles of ice axes, and by the sounds of it you are looking at traversing axes typically used for glacier crossing and self arrest. I've used the ascent style axes, both in ice and in wood (telephone poles for indoor ...

Price is $1200, $1450 with 2 barrels. I like it because I wouldn't need to register another SBR and it's a folding stock. They're already into second or third gen without having the public beta test for them. I haven't found any reports saying it's crap. Reminds me of an ACR. I think it's neat. Not...

Re: Battle of the Glock Generations
I'm extremeeely tempted to cut my RTF 17 down to 26 size and throw on a 26 Lone Wolf slide with a RMR. I love the texture that much. I don't know if that's even possible, but it'd be cool as hell. I don't know if I have the sack to cut my frame. Even a little bit . Don't think the G17 to G26 would ...

Re: Firearms Chat.....Sans catchy title
I was taught two ways, the way TLO with the shooting hand over the slide and pull back (mostly for non-shooting areas to verify that the pistol is unloaded), and the other way like Chris@MTCT when I know the pistol has a round in it or very near it (eg, loaded mags on the deck). I've started using t...

Re: Most favourite firearms
no one thinks its odd that someone comes onto the forum and their first post is to get everyone to list their firearms? Anyway for me, in all those categories, the answer is a 1911. Eh, if you look at the way "favorite" is spelled, I'm pretty sure the OP's chance of owning any on the list is slim t...

Re: Battle of the Glock Generations
Hm, no pic of the, 'Gen 2.5' frame (single pin 9mm, light rail on front, not finger grooves) RTF2's are my favorite. Me too. The grip texture sucks against bare skin but everything else is tits. The Gen3 feels like a bar of soap by comparison. Plus there is always the super fun "what generation is ...

Re: Grabbed a re-curve.
Hard to tell from the pics, but I believe that is a model still made in Grayling, Michigan before they moved operations to Gainsville making it much more sought after and collectible. Nice find, especially at that price! I picked up a Bear Kodiak Hunter myself at an auction for $30, the limbs were ...

Burnt Bronze and Graphite have to be my absolute favorite color combo out there for Cerakote. Makes me
, and those are some damn fine looking AR's.
I think someone did a shotty in Burnt Bronze, and I saw a pistol on here with it too - think it was a Sig.
