Re: "Walking Dead" New Cable Series

Although i like the series, its hard to ignore stupid. Look at Law and Order or some of the crime dramas the wife likes. They are thinking about how people with a brain react. Sure, there is still hollywood in there, but its at least more believable. (I Know, its the PAW..) Seems to me if you have a...

Re: Cyborg: Under rated PAW film?

I liked it. Have it on VHS and watch- or listen- to it when cleaning my shop, cleaning guns, ect. Has a lot of knives from that era in it as well.

some downsides- JCVD dropping a Kukri to block a kick, ect.

Those guns were neat, too.

Re: Marlin Papoose: Ultimate 22LR Survival Rifle?

The $37 one was blued, in a gunshop, and i know the guns well enough to point out that it was missing several parts. Another cost me $80. The SS versions were bought new a few years ago for $220-ish. Monkeyboy- sounds like you might need a new feed throat. Some of the older marlins had the feed thro...

Re: Marlin Papoose: Ultimate 22LR Survival Rifle?

OOOH..i love my papooses. Curerently i own four, two SS and 2 blue. The blue ones were pretty cheap-$37 for one of them. You don't see these for sale often as they are neat little guns, and the people who have them do not often part with them. As far as a survival rifle, well you could do MUCH worse...

Re: How many rounds of ammo to bug out with?

Phraharin.. Nope, not a lot of SHTF expereince, but i listen well. I look at the last three years with the ammo shortage: could you find your ammo on shelves then, in a NON-SHTF situation? Think that it will be there when S Does HTF? I say not likley. I was well stocked with primers before this litt...

Re: How many rounds of ammo to bug out with?

to my way of thinking, Its all based on the EDC, as that is what I always have on me, unless at work. If i am at work I snag the gun from the locker and go- or stay and play as i have a little ammo stashed there as well. the next layer i plan on is the truck- as it it either in the driveway, parked ...

Re: Ruger GP100 or Glock 17????

Consider a SS Security Six as well. i was all stemmy to get a GP100, then handled both and went with the Security six as it was plenty rugged, just seemed a little more svelte for carry. Glocks just work. I have had/seen several relvolvers take a dump, and those people ended up borrowing guns. With ...

Have not seen all episodes, but i am disapouinted that they leave carl and mosty of the women unarmed. I thought they would have more of a spine, having the guts to air a zombie show and all.

my father has used 7-08 for years, in a browning BLR. I have shot it some, and find the recoil pretty mild. BTW, You are to be comended highly for doing that type of dilligent practice with a hunting arm. Too many guys i know will put 1-5 rounds downrange and say "well, its where i left it last year...

Re: BAD CASING OR TOO MUCH POWDER

case head separation, due to bad brass. If that is indeed the load used, its within spec, IIRC. Was this 1x fired MG brass? Many of those have some stretch due to the rear locking of the bolt on most GPMG's, as well as the need to have a little play in head space due to the quick change barrels. Mos...

well...not to get into a saga, but several years ago i was on a quest for a pocket gun. it had to: 1) be easily carried all the time 2) be reliable, even with a little neglect 3) be accurate enough to shoot squirrels with I had a NAA 22magnum for years before this, but never really shot it much. while i am a larger caliber glock fan you really can't go wrong with either. You'll find quite a few people who do conceal the longslides running around, so don't let that stop you.

Re: Joint manipulations and nerve trauma

The largest issue with jointlocks in my experience is the motivation of the student. If the student ia a willing learner, and does not confuse teaching tools and methods with real aplications, then he or she can be quite sucsessful in the real world, particularly if they have a good mix of striking ...

Re: How many volts are in police stun guns?

do you mean "taser" or "stun gun"? they are two diferent kettles of fish. The stun gun= pain compliance. Taser = NMI, and when used right there is not a damn thing you can do for the duration of the ride. Granted, IF the probes are not placed right, clothing disconnect, ect it can be less efective, ...

Sarky-not trying to start a pissing contest, but asking a serious question- with the neck being shorter are you not lacking bullet grip? I say this as i gave a bunch of 40 brass to someone to turn into 357 sig. They were unsucsessful as the necks would not reliably hold a bullet, enough getting pushe...
