Re: caliber to complement .223?

How are the guys with those handy wind gauges using them to gauge the wind 1000meters away? Or are you just measuring the wind at arms length and then eyeballing it way out there? The same with those fancy laser range finders? How do you hold it steady enough to get a good reading off of a deer? Wil...

Re: The Homestead concept

As for the environment pick someplace with a good chance of stability. Anyplace I pick I would build a cistern. Just in case. So anyplace with permafrost is out. Good fresh water access. So arid regions are out. Make sure I have access to enough sustainable timber so I have enough firewood for the w...

Re: Coleman Dual/Multi Fuel Stove and Lanterns: FO?

upgrade your Coleman stove like I did. It now uses three fuels. https://www.campmor.com/c/century-regulated-converter-86801 Installs as fast as you can install the old liquid fuel tank. I went overboard and actually got the conversion kit to go from 1lp bottles to the large 20lp also. there was also...

So no factors contribute to increased hits at long-range? OK, then. Think of it like this. Reading every book on surgery is great. But until you actually get in and do some cutting its worthless. Are you going to be doing any cutting soon? My arguments for starting with a.308 and a more value price...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII (Episode IV Redux 2.1)

It could have also been the island she had just seen were she found the saber. Ans supposedly in the SW universe inanimate objects do not 'call' to people. they have nothing of the force about them. Otherwise Vader would have just searched for those two droids he himself built that were carrying the...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII (Episode IV Redux 2.1)

It was stated that Luke started teaching a group of new Jedi and one (Kylo Ren) turned bad and killed all the them.(sort of like Vader) That was what sent Luke away in hope of finding the lost first Jedi training center and in hopes of finding his answers. He was using some evidence he found in the ...

If she is that powerful of a jedi who could have mind wiped her and forced her to stay on that planet against her will? No one. That's a cool idea but where'd you get it? If she was ever trained by a jedi she would have to had the knowledge removed otherwise she would NEVER have needed or wanted to...

Re: caliber to complement .223?

Hathcock used the Winchester Model 70 in .30-06 using an 8-power Unertl scope. I don't think a single one of his targets was over 500 yards and he never used an electronic range finder. Vasily Zaytsev used a standard issue mosin-negant in 7.62x54r. And never fired over 500 yards. Both were heavy kic...

Re: Star Wars Episode VII (Episode IV Redux 2.1)

JJ Abrams screwed SW all up with this movie. When he made the Star Trek movies he was safe by claiming the new movies were in a different but similar universe. The fans could then pass off anything that didn't fit with the old movies and series as just being a different universe. Such as the super p...

There is no reference to Rey training. Ever.
She never left that desert planet.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII (Episode IV Redux 2.1)

Who said she was the most powerful? Are you saying she may have been drawn to an inanimate object she didn't know of, over interstellar distances but needed a map to find Skywalker, a living Jedi she wanted to find and who was waiting for her? Plus in the SW universe inanimate objects are not part o...

Do you plan on being an F class competitor? Can you afford to be an F class competitor? Do you hand load now? Do you expect to? Do you know your good enough to risk spending the cash and time? Re: Make sure the resource still exists

Your example isn't a lack of resources it is a lack of resources provided by someone else.
the materials/resources are still in existence but they are just not being offered to you at the moment.

Don't rely on someone else to provide for you during any crisis.

If they do its pure bonus.

Ray might not have been sold into slavery. Her parents could have been the ones sold to someone off planet. She could have been left with a good benefactor whom we have not learned anything about yet. As for being Lukes child, no evidence has been offered yet. The only evidence anyone is going on is...

I got one of these "value priced" handhelds. http://baofengradio.us/uv-5r-v2-2nd-gen.html They are programmable, have the scan option, and get fm also. Just wish they got my local am stations. Except forthe Am channel thing they are doing everything I want them to do so far. Just get the programming...

Just watched it tonight. It was a bit disappointing. They didn't need to make Fin a super wimp. And his back story sucked. Its his first battle and he ends up being in the Dark Jedi's strike team? His normal MOS is sanitation? Did Ray have to be super bad ass Jedi? She defeats the last Jedi trained ...

Re: caliber to complement .223?

Hitting any target at any range is easy when you have a spotter and all the chances you need to get onto the target. As long as the bullet goes that far anyone can eventually hit the target. For your next real test go out and hit that target without any spotting in. Hit it he first time out. Hunters...

The 10,000 limit has been lowered to 5000.

Any deposits over 3000. I believe deposits into business accounts are reported but not investigated.

Plus any activity the bank manager deems suspicious.

Re: caliber to complement .223?

I am starting to think your putting to much emphasis and worry into recoil. if you have not shot a larger caliber weapon please find someone with one or just buy a real cheap one and learn to shoot with it at shorter ranges. I would recommend a Mosin and a case of ammo. By the end of that case you s...
