Re: Leatherman "Wave" vs Swisstool "Spirit X"

I have about six different Leathermans and I have handled the Wave. I find the wave, all generations, to be inferior to almost every other tool offered by LM. The scissors is junk, the lack of tools is disappointing, and it lacks an awl. Now the Supertool 300, Rebar and any tool made by victorinox a...

Re: Mutlitool Suggestions Please

I destroyed the wire cutters on my old leatherman Sideclip. I sent it in for warranty work and had a brand new tool in 6 days. There was no fixing my cutters. I tried to snip a 7/0 circle hook with it. The hook won.

That kind of service we keep me as a customer.

Re: Mutlitool Suggestions Please

I have a LM Supertool 300, wave, Kick, Fuse, Blast and a juice. The Supertool is my favorite. It has all the tools I want without the crap I don't. Namely, it has replaceable wire cutter blades and an awl. The blast is my second favorite for whatever reason. It has the right amount of useful tools w...

Re: Show off your Get Home Bag

All the bags look new and unused in this thread. If you never have to use your stuff it's probably the wrong stuff. I use my Kifaru everyday so i find your comment is out of line. Some of us don't need to drag our packs through the mid to prove they get use. You always know your gear is good workin...

Re: Show off your Get Home Bag

Mine is a Kifaru Express. ] I don't really have a fixed content list as the bag doubles as my EDC bag. It always has the following -change of clothes -2 grabber space blankets. -expanded PSK - Nalgene. Usually I have an extra 1 liter platypus...

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

Nothing too major lately, mostly consumable items and a couple used knives. I picked up 500' of paracord on another forum, a used Spyderco endura and Delica, some first aid supplies, and a new pair of keen Targhee II boots. Today I ordered 48 MRE crackers packets. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I took out the guns...I know that's heresy, but I saved a ton of weight and hassle.

I am pulling out the wool blanket as soon as I get a kifaru woobie.

Re: Leatherman Rebar. Opinions?

The knife blades on all my leatherman a suck compared to my spydercos. I carry a real knife for knife tasks and a super tool 300 for tool tasks.

Who cares of you can't open the knife without opening the tool when you have a Spyderco military in your pocket.

Diary of a snow shoveler, probable location - Somewhere in North Dakota. December 8 - 6:00 PM It started to snow. Re: Best source for knives online AND your pick...

I use The-knife-connection.com, usamadeblade.com, bladehq.com, and knifeworks.com. I can recommend all of them.

I'd go for an Esee 3, 4, or Laser Strike from Esee. Any of the Beckers are solid choices. The BK2 and BK16 are my favorites in the line.

Paracord is great, but I like bankline for most purposes. You can carry more line per volume, knots hold better and its far cheaper.

I carry both bankline and paracord but use bankline far more often.

Re: Advice for Anyone with a Flooded Home or Car

According to http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/flood/home/cleaning-your-flooded-or-water-damaged-home , if photographs or documents or whatever are wet and damaged, you can put them in a plastic bag and in a frost-free freezer for later cleaning, to prevent mildew. I don't know how that would impact later res...

I have a used maxpedition jumbo versapack in the mail right now. It's going to pull GHB duty for my girlfriends car.

My Boreal Shirt from Lester River Bushcraft arrived last week. It's every bit as awesome as I hoped.

Re: Mora not full tang.

There is no reason to baton a log that big with a mora. Honestly, I grab my Moras long before I grab one of my Esee's. Knife handling is more about skill and knowledge then size of the blade. Full tang or not, I trust my mora just as much as I trust my laser strike, Izulas and candiru. Stupidity bre...
