Re: ARID Products Quick-Detach Carrier (Q-DC)

I prefer the HSGI over the ESSTAC because it's a semi-rigid frame. Fits perfectly in Taco pouches or you can slap it on Velcro, rounds retain well (since the poly shell holders are also semi-rigid), and orientation doesn't have to be perfect. So we're looking at something a bit more rigid, with a sl...

Pig tails don't really do anything (well, they could but they'd have to be much much longer). I won't use a 14.7" middy if I can help it. Nothing wrong with a 16" carbine. As with anything, it just has to be balanced properly.

So someone makes a one-piece BCG for the AR now. No more gas key staking issues. Saw it in Recoil. Yessir, it's pretty neat. Albeit kind of an expensive solution. But it's like a Space Pen--fuck you pencils! We want a PEN! (I know that really isn't the story, but still funny  )

Re: AK-47 Safety Issue... Accidental Discharge Hazard

Well known issue, especially with Yugo guns. Later imports from some distributors came with the underfolder selector (which has a ledge on the top). Though initially designed for use with a folding stock, it acts as a stop too. http://www.fototime.com/57AE1818E3107AA/orig.jpg But yes, with the top c...

Only Dave's hands can make a 43 look like a 35. I thought that was a 35 and Dave just has Andre the Giant hands. If I ever need to send someone a dick pic, I'm definitely making Dave hold it for the shot. It'll look like a damned baseball bat. Dave could literally "Open up a brand new ...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.

I'm not a fan of permanently attaching muzzle devices. Not only are you [mostly] stuck with it, making suppressor selection null, but you're also stuck with your gas block (or limited to terrible clamp-on ones) and usually your forend as well. As much as you may think that you'll love the configurat...

Re: What does it take to find shooting gloves that FIT?!

I've never been able to wear gloves when I shoot. Not that I physically can't, but if I can't feel the trigger - it has always been very hard for me to be accurate. I'm sure it is a mental headspace & timing thing - but I have to feel the trigger to break shots cleanly. So when I hunt and it is col...

Re: What does it take to find shooting gloves that FIT?!

Weirdo hands here. If the fingers fit, the thumb is too short and vice versa. Or the palm fits but the fingers are off. When I had to make due, invariably I would have to cut off all the fingers or thumb and trigger finger, or physically reinforce the palm base so it wouldn't blow out or... The best...

I like it more than I thought I would. Didn't get to put too many rounds through it though. Enough to tell you that I like it more than the Shield or similarly sized 9mm's

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

Have they quit producing the 42? That would be the most economical thing to do, if they really think the 9mm version would substantially kill off demand for the 380. They could simply convert the machinery/production line to 9mil and make their new gun with minimal capital investment. If they're st...

Re: Malkoff M61NL drop-in upgrade for Surefire.

Been using Malkoff's for years. Great way to give new life to the older Surefires. Very tough bulbs, even if directly in-line with the muzzle of a rifle (I do use flash hiders and not brakes, which is going to be less harsh--but sub 12" 5.56 barrels are still blasty). They also make conversions to u...

Re: Firearms Chat 3: #pewpewlife

So, in this month's Guns & Ammo a reader wrote in to talk up the M1 Garand which he used in the service, said .223 is great "maybe for prairie dogs and woodchucks" and then sneered at hunters who "entered the woods with a big, heavy, black and clumsy rifle". That was, like, the most ultra-Fudd stat...

Re: Talk me out of a revolver

If you want it for fun, go for it. I must say that some of the guns I've had the most fun shooting are largely impractical for my purposes. The S&W Model 617 is one of those guns. Outside of Steel Challenge I don't know if you're going to get much competition use out of it though, seeing as it's. 22...

Re: Why You Should Not Use Reloads in a Defense Gun

As we've recently seen from some high profile shooting trials, if the shoot is deemed questionable--everything will be scrutinized. If it's deemed legitimate it will largely go unnoticed.

Civil court may be a different story but no one has ever linked me to one where it made a difference.

Though certainly Glock is capable of magpulesque product releases, the Glock 25 and 28 are very popular in the rest of the world. Obviously wasn't a mistake to release the G42, given the sales worldwide.
