Re: Stopped a Robbery Attempt on me 01/30/12

Thye earlier comment on the environmental aspect also crossed my mind. Not intending a political jibe, but the owner of the franchise, or some other entity, may consider the spillage a big deal. Since the police never followed up you may want to just keep the whole event on the "down low" and avoid...

Re: Think I was being sized up today

I'll second or third the never open a door for ANYONE. A recent homicide just happened here where a youth was knocking on peoples doors. An elderly woman and her 21yo health care worker answered the door. He ended up raping and shooting the worker and killing the old woman. The worker got away and w...

Re: Street Defense

Yes theres always the easy answer, "I'll run away" or "Drop the bag and run" or whatever. What if they dont really want a witness after they get the bag. No the bag is not worth your life, but you never know what is in the mind of a criminal. Could you run...sure but how do you know that one of the ...

Question on grainmills

Im looking for a hand cranked grain mill and want the know if there are "good and less expensive" mills out there. Im looking for something in the under $200 range, and would be happy if I could find something in the 140-150 range.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Glock options?

Have you checked out Springfield XDs at all? They are on par with Glocks in most respects. I had the 45 compact and it was awesome. Definitely one I should have kept although from a prep standpoint, homogenizing your gun collection means having to keep fewer spare parts. Sent from my DROIDX using T...

Re: What did you do to prepare this weekend?

Same thing happened to us, I had to buy a bit of the produce at the store for the salsa. Though I have to say the fall garden is doing rather well for what little we planted. We let Riley and her cousins plant the last of the stored seeds from 2 years ago at her slumber party. All the girls had fun ...

Re: What did you do to prepare this weekend?

I canned some salsa with the little one, already gone through 2 jars and entered a jar in the fair. Also got about 1200 pounds of free gravel from craigslist, all that was needed was a shovel and a trailer to haul it away. I intend on using the nice white stuff around the house under the windows for...

Re: Water Storage

I just hit up the plastics supply (I know, a few months later) and now am getting 7 55 gallon drums for a total of 700 gallons stored. Now I just need to clean them out and put some spigots on them.

They also have 30 gallon barrels for 8 as well
