The first thing you need isn't a pack, or even boots, but a plan. Why the hell are you bugging out rather than digging in? Where do you plan on going? Is there someone there? Do they expect you? What are your routes? Don't plan on your main route being open. How long will it take to get there? What...

Re: Starting Bug Out bag
Hi! I am new here but not so new to the whole idea of a bug out bag. I am a college student living at home and I am just now starting my bag and gathered a few pieces of equipment from family members and what I purchased myself. I have a question on a quality bag. I was thinking about getting a CFP...

The general consesnus is to get a pack that fits you the best. If you are on a severely restricted budget, I'd recommend you find the surplus pack that fits you best. The CFP 90 is flipping huge. I like huge. You can cinch a huge pack down, but can't stretch a bag that's too small. Plus I like subl...

One problem I am working possibly from now till then and I doubt i will have much money for a car but am only an hour and 40 some odd minutes away. If anyone has any...

Whatever you do you'll be light years ahead of 90% of the population as far as preparedness. I am personally thinking of going with a Camelbak BFM or Motherlode myself for a pack. The key is do whatever you can afford now as it is better to have something rather than nothing ;) I agree whole hearte...
