Re: Workout of the Day

Hey, this thread is a good idea for extra motivation not to be a couch potato!!!! Hell yeah it is. I'll admit, putting myself out there in front of folks does drive me just a little harder. I remember an old thread like this from like 2008 or something. I posted on it all the time. I've noticed sin...

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

Picked it up yesterday. Ain't shot this one yet. Put some Trijicon sights on it. I'm a Warren Tactical fan through and through mainly just for the price and the thinner front sight blade paired with the wider soft square notch is really fast for me. I wish the Trijicons were sized more like that, bu...

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

Got hands on one a few days ago. It is super soft shooting. Put it on lay-away on the spot.

There is also a two round mag extension for the 42. Probably won't be long before there is one for the 43. I think it was made by Dawson, but I ain't sure.

Re: Designated handgun rig?

Nice. With Simply Rugged you could get a rig like that, but it will also afford you the ability to use the holster conventionally OWB. Or hell, even get their IWB straps for an extra 15 bucks too.

Re: Designated handgun rig?

^ Maybe a HPG Recon rig. I have one that was my home defense rig, then turned into a land-nav rig for maps, protractors and compasses...and still a pistol. Also have the snubby, which will be going on an 8 miler in a little bit. No shit, I have probably over 2000 foot miles on mine. Their stuff is t...

Re: Designated handgun rig?

No, I don't mean for CCW. I mean "hey I ain't got a rifle at the moment, but at least my pistol has an element of rifle-esque support in the system now" Like a designated fighting rig sans rifle mags. The image in my mind isn't even low profile. Basically a fuck load of pistol mags en lieu of rifle ...

Designated handgun rig?

Anyone built up a designated handgun rig? Seen buttloads of chest rigs and vests on here geared to a rifle/pistol combo. Why not have one just for pistols that isn't limited to a belt? I think I'm going to throw one together, with 3 happy sticks (Glock) and a pile of Glock 17 mags just because I can...

Re: WASR 10 mostly done!!

I'd put a new front sling attachment on. Maybe one of those BlueForce Gear sling things (I don't know, it my actually be called that). I think you're going to melt yer sling between the gas tube and barrel.

Cool AK from the receiver forward. Not a fan of the stock.

This looks pretty cool...new AK rear sight

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015 ... ear-sight/

Think I may just bubblegum one of my random Glock sights to my AK to see it I like it. If I do, this may be in my new future plans for my AK.

Regardless its pretty nifty for 50 bucks.

Re: Trying to decide on a front sight height for M&P 9

Unless you're a bull's-eye specific guy, I'd go with a FO. They don't really glare so much as they just, I don't know, redirect light? I've never noticed like a sharp reflection, more of a soft glow. When I started shooting SingleStack division, I went through the progression of sights over a USPSA ...

Re: Trying to decide on a front sight height for M&P 9

I'm not following your first question. You hold-off shouldn't affect the brightness of the FO. Just go to the LGS and take a few sight pictures with various sights and decide if you like an FO better. For your second, there is more than sight height to affect your elevation. The grain of the bullet....

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

I doubt it. There's a lot of companies that did it in the reverse order. Ruger with their LC380. Kahr with their CT380. Sig with the 290 and 250 .380 whatchimacallits. All these manufacturers had successful 9mm versions before seeing a market for .380 versions. I'm pretty sure Glock saw the market f...

.

This one was a 3'' K frame, stainless. I don't remember the details because it was like 6 years ago. Firing pin was mounted on the hammer though.

Re: Talk me out of a revolver

Look for a police trade in Smith or Ruger. The Model 10 would work, but a .357 cylinder and frame will just last longer and soak up more recoil, and could sling moah powah if needed. Wasn't there a specific model(s) of S&W .357's that had a different sized forcing cones? Like it was bad to run the ...

Re: EDC light criterion. Needs a new one

Thanks. Both klarus and Pelican look like good contenders. I have a Surefire L4 Luminax that I've had since 2007. Its great, but I want something just a little smaller. The Klarus P1A looks like almost exactly what I want. I'm going to shop around town here first to see just to potentially get hands...

EDC light criterion. Needs a new one

So I've been looking for an EDC light. I'm picky as fuck about these things. I'll just list criterion, if you have a suggestion cool. If not, thats cool too. I currently have a few already for specific purposes. Surefire Executive (the approx 5'' one) as a house light. The tiny single AAA streamligh...

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

Ok ok we got it. The 6 round capacity could be better. Give Glock a couple hours, maybe they'll make a new floor plate or larger mag or something. Shit, its been like a week. Speaking of lights... That could be another advantage of one gun over another subjective to the shooter. My Shield is not nea...

Re: Its finally here. (Single stack Glock)

I'm on a never ending quest for the ultimate running shorts gun. Right now its BG380 for me. I've yet to find a 9mm that would work. I've been through too many Kahr's to try a CM9 (I'm on my 6th, used with trijicon night sights for 275. I like thsi one a lot). Shield wouldn't work. Kahr has been hit...

Re: Its finally here.

My shield has an Apex kit and Warren sights. Mags, holsters, blah blah, and I've had it for years, carried it a lot, even just ran it in an IDPA match. I have no problem trading off a system if another system offers more. Hell its that mentality that got me the shield, and I've been nothing but happ...
