Other than building a shelter, about the only prep you can do for a tornado (besides having the basic supplies on hand) is always think about where you would go if you had less than a minutes warning. What part of the building would you go to, etc. Make sure your family knows what part of the house ...

I wouldn't worry about chemicals leaching from your plastic........but I wouldn't put them in a dishwasher or subject to high heats.

I've had them print custom topo maps of my area........I arrowhead an area that is on the edges of four quads...........I defined an area and had them custom print a map. The prices are reasonable.

Canada is studying Nalgenes now and a report is out sometime in 2008. So, lots of stores are closing them out now. A local liquidator is getting boxes of them in which are being returned from Canada......and selling them for $2.00 a bottle. I'm stocking up. http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news...

A couple docs in our area got popped by the DEA so Dr's do not ask if we need any other scripts.

What's the differnce in taking multiple tylenol as opposed to taking one 800mg? I understand if thats the only way insurance will pay for it.

Be very very careful with survival candles........I've got them, but prefer to use a rechargeable battery powered lantern.

Awareness is the first step to being prepared, actual assembly of a kit is probably next.............you are on your way.

I buy extra gear at the truck sales too. The last one had 8x10 tarps for $2.00...........prybars for $1.00.......tape measures for $1.00. Thise items are typically really advertised and quantities are limited, but if you get there early its well worth it. I use this cheaper gear for keeping in vehic...
