Re: 9mm handgun / submachine gun designed to be suppressed

I don't think there's really much difference between taking a regular weapon and adding a threaded barrel, and buying a weapon "designed to be suppressed," which basically just means it has a threaded barrel. Some pistols (the "Hush Puppy," etc.) had a slide lock installed, to make the weapon into a...

Re: H & R 12 gauge Shot gun, any assisories can add to one?

Its got a couple screws in the top but not sure if just hold the gun together or what i will try to get a picture soon If they are pretty tiny screws mounted along 12:00 on the receiver, those are almost certainly to fill the drilled-and-tapped holes in the receiver. You buy the correct rail, which...

Re: Baltimore Riots

Having lived in Baltimore for several years, I can only imagine what a nightmare this is for those there. That city was pretty nigh-on apocalyptic at the best of times. 12 year olds mugging people at gunpoint was pretty common. The Wire was filmed in the nicer neighborhoods, dressed down to look lik...

I know its not 9mm Luger but it is "9mm". My jeep handgun is a CZ82. Usually about $250 bucks out the door w/ two mags. Extra mag I think is $30. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CZ_82 Also get a jeep safe such as this. $60 http://www.amazon.com/Bestop-42640-01-HighRock-Wrangler-Driver/dp/B004BWU8H8 Yo...

PFFT if he doesn't already have 2 pairs in his bob then there is no helping him.
High-quality fishnet tights that fit over my massive, manly, tree-trunk thighs are an expensive speciality item. Use dollar store fishnets for stencil material.

Re: offcamber's INCH Bag and contents

I was inspired by this thread to rework my INCH, specifically by adding a chest rig. Unfortunately my chest rig does not lend itself to carrying a pistol as offcamber does. I may rectify this in the future, but for now, here's what I've got: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b216/Jeriah/Mobile%20Upl...

Re: H & R 12 gauge Shot gun, any assisories can add to one?

I put these on both my Remington and Mossberg shotguns. I decided somewhat arbitrarily that I wanted a direct interface as opposed to a rail. These work great. Can't see the link. Just a red 'X' in a little box. The hospital's web filter is not very helpful in a lot of things... Assuming it is a WM...

Re: Pump Shotgun vs pistol for Home Defense

which is it easier to train a novice on for tactical shoots? Rifle, by fair margin. Regarding shotguns, initial training has a shorter learning curve than a pistol but becoming proficient with a pump shotgun is very hard indeed. A friend and I are taking Front Sight's shotgun class in a couple week...

Re: H & R 12 gauge Shot gun, any assisories can add to one?

You don't need a scope on your shotgun. This. Unless you really need a slug gun for hunting, just don't. A red dot would be ok, but otherwise - don't. Are you trying to bang your friend? If so, Install a rail if the receiver is drilled and tapped, throw a cheap scope on there to make her happy, and...

So I have had a H & R 12 gauge shot gun now for couple months, I not really done anything to it but shot it some maybe around 50 rounds, I did buy a sling for it cause at my dads its a pretty good walk from the house down to the the shooting spot. If you want to make this into a serious fighting gu...

Re: AK rail

I have heard that they are good to go. However, I believe that the Ultimak is a little more proven, and doesn't introduce a moving part under your optic. My recommendation would be to go with the Ultimak, but if she has some reason for wanting a TWS dogleg, I have heard nothing but good things about...

Speaking of the Anderson uppers, how do we feel about them? It's tempting to get one of their smooth side uppers for $60 or whatever for a lonely lower I have sitting around. Maybe a pistol build with a paddle pistol brace with a side of fuck you I've been considering one. They're popular for budge...

Wait, I forget. Could I just pop a .300 upper on an existing lower and I'm good? Same mags and everything? Or no? I wondered what happened to that. This is why I stick to really, really major calibers, and I try to stick to pretty common platforms. I'll always be able to buy a spare 5.56mm AR bolt ...

Or you could go for the even cheaper version, the Norinco/Interstate Arms Hawk 982. About 200 MSRP but you can halve that if you look around. I've got a lady friend who runs a gun shop, and I was helping her do inventory. She's got a couple of those in stock. They are HORRID in terms of fit and fin...

Pig tails don't really do anything (well, they could but they'd have to be much much longer). Some people have reported (arfcom etc) that they reduce felt recoil, or spread it out over slightly more time. In other cases it apparently caused short stroking. Nothing to this? (Placebo effect?) I won't...

Well, I'm no expert but my understanding is that the 20" M16 was designed with the gas port 7.5" to the rear of the muzzle, thus giving the system ideal dwell time per Stoner's design. The 14.5" carbine and 16" mid maintain that 7.5" of space between port and muzzle thus have equal dwell time to th...

Ordered from Midway, a carbine buffer spring, ALG combat trigger, and a gunsmith's lower parts kit (their name for "no trigger, no pistol grip). Came to $120 total, shipped. Lower was $80, shipped; no FFL fee because I know a guy. Well, a girl. A human. With an FFL. So I've got a new lower for $200...
