Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Heh, I'm not one for the enchanting skill (too foggy for me, I prefer something like marksman ;)) but it would be very annoying to have items that can only hold one attribute. That would just make the RPG-player inside of me weep. I just hope that enchanting is a bit more like Morrowind than Oblivio...

Re: Food Storage Porn: Hot or Not. Show us pics!

This seems more like a BOB food item, to me. That's an AWFUL lot of calories for an adult, let alone for a kid under 12, even an active one, and if you're just hunkering down, laying low while you're eating these, well- you might not have a wide enough door to leave when it's time. Works like...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Only one suggestion. Extend the water cooling to the video cards also. The two places where dust will collect and kill hardware by choking airflow is the CPU and the video cards. One of the most overlooked benefits of watercooling is the fact that you are not sucking dust and cat hair and whatever ...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I wanted the I7 but I am not on an unlimited budget. So the I5 was a trade off. I gave the Builder 1000 dollars and told him to make the best machine he could while staying within that amount, and this is what he came up with. I really am lost in the woods with a lot of this compute stuff. I can di...

Moody's places Spain on negative review (Reuters) - Rating agency Moody's Friday placed Spain on review for a possible downgrade, citing weak growth and funding pressures, hitting the euro on concerns a Greek rescue package has not laid contagion fears to rest. Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

Question: I've been told that the payments the .gov makes against our debts is just enough to cover the interest on the loans it has out now. How accurate is that statement? Pretty accurate for pretty much all Western economies. The Dutch spend just under 10% of our budget paying interest only. Pay...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

A simple tip for getting cheaper computer stuff: keep an eye out for new developments. Whenever big new technologies are introduced, the older, still very capable ones tend to be downgraded in price. That way, back in 2006 when dual core processors became the norm, I got myself a single-core AMD 400...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

As long as Archery =/= turning the enemy into pincusions I imagine I'll go sneaky archer for first play through, maybe with a bit of magic. I really hope the Dark Brotherhood has a quest line, it was such a blast in Oblivion. Though, even if Archery sucks...again, won't be long until it's modded ri...

Re: What are you playing?

Look around Ebay or a used game shop in your area, bro. Did you get the expansions with your original game? What? Go to a physical shop? In the digital age? BEGONE, MONSTER! :P Didn't get the expansions, actually. Which is one excellent reasons why perhaps I shouldn't get it. I'll be playing for we...

Re: What are you playing?

Oh, and Morrowind (not Oblivion). I love that game. Too bad it doesn't support widescreen resolutions, otherwise I'd be replaying that. Well, it does if you download the Morrowind Graphics Extender, but that requires the Game of the Year edition that I don't have. :S (It's not expensive to buy that...

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Ok here is a question what race, sex, and character type is going to be your first run through... Im thinking Male Dark elf Assassin. The dark elves have a high fire resistance as a racial ability which will be handy in those fire breathing dragon encounters. They also have a pretty good starting a...

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon

I heard on NPR this morning that the US rating may be downgraded if we raise the debt limit without imposing significant spending cuts. I'm glad someone is thinking long-term. Might this reduce the pressure to raise the debt limit? As far as I can tell the 'big stick' being held over us is the thre...

Re: MRE - Do you know any european suppliers?

Hi all, I'm trying to find someone who will ship MRE's to Europe but am drawing blanks. I know that MRE cases are heavy, and that the cost of shipping would therefor be higher than the cost of the product, but don't mind this since the only real alternatives (where I live) to MRE's are the freeze d...

Re: strangest thing you have ever seen

Orbs or ships of extra terrestrial nature that sometimes change shape or size, move in ways human aircraft can't replicate, but never makes any sound. Seen all the time, everywhere in the world, and have been REALLY increasing as of late. I was going to comment on this... but then I remembered that...

Re: "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day" -- AWESOME!!!!!!

Ah, much better, this time! The misses and I immediately ate some since we found it yummy, which is always a good sign! The trick for me was to both lower the baking temperature as well as somewhat shorten the baking time. Here's the recipe I used, modified to European metric scales. Another note: I...
