Re: The Crovel EXTREME...Reviewing the beast!

I really wanted to like the Crovel Ex 'cos it does look cool but for my application of choice (ie: in a bug out bag) it's too heavy. Also, I've come to the conclusion that all I want in an E-Tool is for it to function as a shovel for digging catholes and water runoffs, etc and maybe cut turf and roo...

Re: High Ground

A friend is pushing me to start going the Amazon self-publishing route. When he discovered I have an entire book of short stories sitting in a file cabinet, he really started pushing me. I plan to write this story here on ZS, to a logical conclusion, for free. If there are any sequels, I may go the...

Re: WTF Rifle of the Month *Open to all kinds of guns now*

I have an honest question that always pops into my head when I see all these weird mods to comp guns. If these mods actually increase your performance, why aren't they used on our military's sniper rifles. I realize budget is an issue but for a specialist, it seems like the cost would be worth it. ...

Re: SOPMOD Block 2.5 Build (WARNING! 56K DEATH!)

LAPD use those Millenium White-Light jobs don't they? Thanks for the quick reply. I've been thinking about putting a tactical light on a bolt gun for pigs (as opposed to the big ass "spotlights" fox and kangaroo shooters put on their guns down here). At the ranges I'd anticipate most contacts I'd li...

Re: SOPMOD Block 2.5 Build (WARNING! 56K DEATH!)

Nice looking AR! Question about using the Surefire Fury as a weapon light though, isn't the Tactical model a single output 500 lumen dealio? I used to think that was awesomesauce mounted on a rifle until I started reading about how it can severely fuck the night vision of you and those around you an...

Re: Russian Quick Draw Holster: Cocked, And loaded?

If you're concerned with carrying a round in the chamber I'd suggest a Springfield XD or XDM. There are no less than 4 safeties. A grip, a drop, a trigger and a manual. They are very reliable as well. Holy Hell. That's a lot of 'safety'! I prefer my 1911s. Call me old fashioned, call me whatever......

Re: Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle

I'm not a fan of bolt action rifles nor am I a fan of the fact that only ruger magazines go in ruger weapons. It uses AI mags which are about as standard as it comes in terms of bolt action rifle DBM's. Yep, and it will also take AccuracyMag magazines, Alpha Manufacturing Type 1 and 2 magazines, Ru...

Re: 600 MILLION Indians Without Power as Grid Crash Spreads

Germany went heavy into solar as they no longer have much domestic energy resources. In Germany the consumers (Big Industry) control the government and they were able influence the policy into a solar friendly way. This lowers costs, increasing profits. There is effectively no way in the US to get ...
