Everything I type in response to you regarding politics might get this thread locked.
Suffice it to say I like the Democratic/Republic that has developed; and, if all three legs are left alone, it works quite well for all citizens.

I do hope that didn't go to far into the realm of politics.

Re: Robot Uprising - Or, what to do when AI Does All The Job

I'm not a paranoid person, but I've seen that we-need-to-develop-it before-the-other-person-does mindset at work before. The parallels between this and the rush to develop the bomb are frightening. The ramifications for the lives of the average person could be huge - a result which the A.I. develope...

Don't worry, if you're nice to me, I'll be nice to you. Treat me as a smart input output system," Sophia said.
And if I don't wish to be 'nice' to a robot, then what?

Re: World War Flea - the Flea Apocolpsye in Real time

Does anyone know how long it takes before all the fleas are dead after a professional spray?
We are supposed to call them if the fleas are still here, but they said not to vacuum for 2 days to give it time to get them all.

Re: World War Flea - the Flea Apocolpsye in Real time

sigh
I have them showing up in the traps at a consistent rate, but our daughter is losing patience.
I think it's time to call someone and have them spray poison all over our home.

Don't have any idea how we'll pay for that.

Re: World War Flea - the Flea Apocolpsye in Real time

I don't think it's a new carrier, these are almost all teeny tiny just-hatched fleas. I think the problem is that the furnace kicked on for the season, and is hatching them all like a mother hen. Going to pick up another pack of the mini bombs and do the one area that is still producing, (as I said ...

The diatomaceous earth will kill some good insects, too. If you have ladybugs or something on a section of plants that you want to keep, best to avoid it with the DE. --- http://www.absorbentproductsltd.com/diatomaceous-earth-insect-list.html "DE is known to be especially effective against. Re: World War Flea - the Flea Apocolpsye in Real time

The mini flea bombs I bought don't seem to be spreading the fleas. Perhaps because they are a mini size? The ones we used to use were very large. I had one in the main flea area, and one in the secondary flea area at the other end of the house. http://c.shld.net/rpx/i/s/i/spin/image/spin_prod_ec_769...

Re: World War Flea - the Flea Apocolpsye in Real time

We had 2 major areas, by the front door where the cat spent most of her last days and the other end of the house under the desk for some reason.
We routinely used diatomaceous earth in the cat box, I think there's an unopened bag.

It's in the main affected area though.

Re: Modeling, apocalypse/zombie dioramas

You might consider basically swapping male heads for female heads on any slightly smaller bodies. Perhaps add slight bumps in front, or a ponytail in back but really they don't stand out. When dressed up completely in gear, it's hard to tell male from female except by height. For small amounts of co...

Personally I'm not worried about robot farmers, that's practically what we have now.
One guy in a harvester behind 2 robot harvesters running them all.
It's just called agribusiness.
Not going to hurt the "family farm"... if they are still around they have found their niche market.

Re: Canned Water - How Long does it Last? A Live Taste Test

I had a gallon of water from the dollar store in my car trunk for 8 years.
Seemed fine when we drank it.
Those cans are intended for immediate emergency use, I would think they wouldn't last nearly 8 years.

Re: Leather jacket made for fashion protect against zombie b

Since leather boots prevent rattlesnakes from breaking skin, I would assume the leather jacket would work for zombie bites.
After all, zombies were just people.
Heavy denim ones should work as well.
