Re: Bag recommendations

Check out the Camelbak BFM. It's like the motherload but has some additional side pockets. I just did 20 miles of hike and stayed three days with mine. I had all the usual stuff with me, stove, tent, pad, sleeping bag, camelbak 5 liter water bladder (up grade) and the normal gear for such a trip. I'...

Best advice you'll ever get on a forum, don't EVER buy from Botach, EVER!!!!!!! Google them if you don't believe my words of advice. I've been a victim one time and now they shall pay for all the customers they have screwed over!!!!

How about some bad ass bolt/lock cutters. I'm looking for some alum handle type that don't break the bank.

Re: DPMS LR-308

I have a AP4 16" barrel/flat top model and absolutely love it. Mags are cheap ($35.00) and you can still get Wolf for about $8 and change for (20) if you look hard enough. Factory mags are excellent also, can't get any better so no need to look.

Re: camel back motherlode

Seems you can never have enough room so I'd recommend getting the BFM. Been using one myself or years and absolutely love it. I carry it every time I go on any trip, be it just out of town or out of the country. I also hike long hard trails in the AZ sun and it still looks like new when I dust it of...

Re: Help me choose a Travel knife.

Another vote for buying a folder when you get there. Do all the research you possibly can before going on the subject as well. If you're a pretty decent size guy you'll have little to worry about. Most Americans are like giants in China/Japan. The walking stick idea is probably the best way to go wi...

Re: Spotting a Hidden Handgun (pictorial)

I use a clip draw on my G26 50% of my carry in the SOB position. In Phoenix it's hot as hell 8 months of the year so wearing shorts is the norm. If I'm wearing pants I carry with a Galco COP ankle holster. That's my favorite method of carry, very comfortable and impossible to spot. Only thing I don'...

Re: knife travel questions

As mentioned it's not a problem. I usually put it in something that's sealed (zip tie your shaving kit closed) so some dirty ass baggage guy that might happen to dig though your bad doesn't grab it. I also zip tie all my zippers on the outside of my bad. They all have those crappy little keys or com...

Re: mini 30 good deal or not

for $350 it should stand you in good stead, especially considering the quantity of ammo and mags you got with it. One word of caution: foreign 7.62X39 uses .311 diameter bullets. Domestic 7.62X39 uses .308 bullets usually. the mini 30 barrel is bored for the .308 bullets, so shooting a lot of forei...

No pistol (CCW, Concealed Carry Weapon)?
I'm a broke college kid so I cant really afford a pistol yet :(

Start small, something is better than nothing. Check out the new Ruger LCP .380, they run about $280.00. Excellent daily carry CCW gun. Just picked one up for the wife's CCW carry pistol.

Looks good from what I can see in the tiny pics. Only thing that jumps out at me are all the alkaline batteries (heavy and short shelf life). I would recommend getting some lithium batteries and carry them in something like this.

What I use and love them

For double the money you could have 4 times the light in a smaller package with a Fenix. Link? Which Fenix model are you referring to? This is a pretty small package. https://www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=191 And a clip for the above model if you want one? https://www.fe...

it's finally fixed. I took the Jeep to axleboy and had them look everything over. Turns out it was the front axle u-joints and / or the swaybar bushings. Those were the only things they suggested that I replace. It's all good now! I'm a happy Jeeper again. :D So...what about the back axle moving in...

I think I found a winner. It is the streamlight microstream. http://www.streamlight.com/product/product.aspx?pid=144 Small, reasonably bright and uses an easy to find battery. Only 1.5 hours of runtime but that doesn't seem unreasonable when sucking 20 lumens out of a AAA battery. Cost about $20. I...

I'd stick with one knife on you at all times and one in the bag. Ditch that old wooden POS, those things are crap. Mag for cheap http://www.davescatalog.com/pages/9/Pro-Mag-Magazine-for-Bersa-Series-95-Thunder-380-380-ACP-7-Rounds-Blue.html Or this (10rnd) http://www.gunclips.net/be38310380gu.html
