Re: Teach me about 80% lower receivers (No FFL Required)

It is, but wanting because you want a weapon without a serial number makes it suspicious enough that I'm not touching it. Also most LEOs (if not all) will give you absolute hell if they see it doesn't have a serial number. You can always put your own serial # on it (and are encouraged to do so, but...

Cargo dockers, black boots (tactical), some kind of vest under his windbreaker. You see a leatherman on his belt, and a folder clipped in his pocket, and can also tell there ar...

This weekend we: Build a new storage shelf in the basement (took ~ half the boards earmarked for shelving) - 37" wide, 12" deep, 93 1/8" tall, 6 shelves total. Finished going through the last of the boxes in the basement, which had not been gone through since the move (3 years ago). Trimmed down mor...

Re: Awkard moments or negative responses while using your ED

Not pour - that would seem intentional. 'Big eek-jump-splash right down his front' is the way to go. Of course I'm a lady, a guy wouldn't usually say eek. Use an appropriate guy exclamation. Honestly, I'd go with the pour... His action was out of line... Deliberate response on your part would make ...

Re: Awkard moments or negative responses while using your ED

2-3 minutes pass and I hear Bob leaving the office. He stops behind be, and before I can turn around he grabs my right cargo pocket (which may or may not have contained the 642 in a Desantis pocket holster mentioned above) and he proceeds to shake the ever-living shit out of the pocket and it's con...

Re: Bugging out in a group... stove dilemma

We (me and my wife) had a similar debate on our own bug out bags... In the end, we both have a stove (one a whisperlite, one a pocket rocket). It gives redundancy, let's us use different fuels, and if we get split up, we still both have one.

My only concern is, although the utility crew said I was free to take it, is it technically trespassing\theft?

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Got blocked a bit on my road the other day due to utility crews doing some cutting of trees. I stopped and asked them about what was up. They said they were getting ready to put up new power poles... I asked about the wood, they said I was welcome to it. Went grocery shopping last night, picked up a...

Re: The BATF Paid Me A Visit Yesterday

Ok, this may sound stupid, but.... 1.) Do you have copies of the order you placed, and does it specifically state that you were ordering a semi-automatic weapon? 2.) Did you ever take physical possession of the weapon in question? I know you PAID for it, but has it ever been out of the custody of a ...

Re: Uptick in Fire Arm Purchases

Tuesday, after lunch (about 2-3 pm), I went by a local shop... They had 20-30 lower parts kits (CMMG) for the AR... $77+tax I went back yesterday (Wednesday) at 1 pm... There was one left, and it was tucked away under\behind the counter... Still no lowers. I saw no .308 ammo, but I think there was ....

Uptick... *snickers* Had been considering getting an AR lower... Was going to get one in March(ish) but, due to other events, I did consider moving up my timetable. *facepalm* I cannot find one ANYWHERE online. Went to three different shops yesterday. One of them was down to pretty much hunting shot...

Re: Challenge: Jayne Cobb and Kaylee's belt orders

Looking at that belt, my first thought was 'Guess Mal told him no grenades again...' Starting at the rifle, and moving counter clockwise around the belt I see three magazines (1 pistol, 2 rifle) on the back, Front Pouch (Round) could be a combat tourniquet, a monocle, or maybe a small smoke grenade....

Sorry, was having problems logging in over the weekend from my home box. Stupid forum cookie issues I think.. Anyway, LONG term, my plan is to have a solid base unit at home, a vehicle one mounted in my SUV, and the hand unit goes with me. I've got a radio guy in my group, and he's got a similar set...

If you guys had to chose, which of the following would you go with? I'm looking for a quality handheld unit which I will be using once I pass my test. Also, it will be our first real comms prep. Eventually it will be with me in the car, while a base station will be installed in the BIL so my wife ca...

Re: Radiator leak question

I would change it myself but don't have a garage. The apt management would likely come unglued if I had the radiator out of the car in the lot. I guess its ok that it slowly leaks onto the lot over time. I think I did find a coworker of my girlfriends who has a farm. He said I could use his garage....
