Re: General Fitness Discussion thread

So far I'm down 15 pounds since I started a month ago. 85 more to go and then I re-evaluate what has been working and not and go from there to get me down to 200 lbs. My starting stats: 345 lbs. 49.4% BMI All stats good except resting heart rate was at the upper limit of "OK" and my sugars were righ...

Re: Thrift Shop finds

Nothing... absolutely nuthin'. Did I ever tell you guys about the cross-dresser shoes I found once? It was before my wedding last year and I went to go hit-up all the thrift stores in PDX for some good dress shoes for my wedding. I took my 11 year old step-daughter with me. Daddy-Daughter day!...

Re: Newest longbow - "Darach"

Whoa, missed this one as it was posted while I was sick for about 5 days a few weeks ago. Nice, I love the simplicity of this style. My first bow I made is a lot like that one in style, yours is about +100 times prettier though. Good job. Mine started off as a 6' long piece of red oak from a trash/r...

Re: Wouldn't a Kukri be pretty effective?

I dispute that 100%. I guess that's what I'm curious about. For me, disputing a claim implies having evidence to the contrary. The LACK of evidence of something, while it gives reason to doubt, doesn't give grounds for affirming the contrapositive. Sort of like when I can't find my car in the mall ...

Re: Wouldn't a Kukri be pretty effective?

The kukuri is of course a very effective weapon and tool, and its uses in zombie combat are pretty obvious. With one slash, a good kukuri will decapitate a zombie with practically no effort. << Not sure that is true, actually quite positive that is not true. Not to mention that outide of combat it ...

My pants pockets on the other hand, they're not as keen as I am. NXP It's why I got the Juice. I wear slacks or chinos 4-5 days per week and anything bigger in my pocket would put the wear and tear on them or it looked like I was smuggling a bag of nickels in my pants. If I had a different job, lik...

You can't go wrong with a Wave or Surge as a common-man's tool. If you want something lighter (like I did) the Juice line has plenty of choices. I have cut chicken wire (and finishing nails and coat hangers) with my litte Juice and it works great.

I have both. The stove is too wide, as Twisted posted above, the dimensions are off.

I store my Ikea hack in a cotton ditty bag I sewed myself.

Re: Beretta Bobcat Buy or No Buy

Finally got my Tomcat (.32 ACP) to the range a few weeks ago and the only problem I had (and I agree with the "shoot ball ammo" thing) is, since I got big and meaty hands, the sucker bit me and I got blood all over my gun. 100 rounds of Fiocchi and it was all dreamy and shit, fist sized groups at 7 ...

Re: whats the best camp stove??

. I don't see too many people trying to warm up a can of beans or making pasta in a jetboil. Easy. 1) Put about a cup of water in jetboil. 2) Partially or fully open can of beans. Also remove label and glue best you can. 3) Place opened and de-labeled can of beans/stew/soup/peas/Spaghetti-Os in Jet...

Esbit and fuel tabs then, very small space needed in a bag. If your conditions are right will boil up 2 cups of water in about 10 minutes. Make sure your boiling container is compatible with the Esbit stove.

I wont use it much. It will just be in the bug out bag. what worries me on the one with the ignition device is that once its lighted the ignition divice is in the flame and i think it will heat up and melt the plastic below it. so that is why i listed the other two because they dont have the igniti...

Looks like Jesus did f- it up but at least they know where Negan is getting his info from. Too bad it wasn't a guard schedule or supply drop or something but the plot to band together and take Negan out just got leaked. Best thing to do is track Kal and secure him. What you are looking for is a "Swiss Dagger". If you use that search term you will find a ton of them. Boker makes one that I've seen for about $250. I really like the style myself. Coleman makes a Walmart available flashlight that is small and under $20. Takes 3 AAAs, 90 lumens, reasonable burn time. I've even taken mine camping and it's way up on my list of things that impress the shit out of me for under $20 . Other companies are making more of the same. All my Mini-Mags, 3 ...

When things do get "normal" again I know what I'm going into the 10k range of next time (.22lr and 9mm), jeez  All of us agreeing on this point is going to help slow the return to 'normal' I'm afraid. I just thought that.
