Re: Sleeping mats / pads - what do you use?
And Ninja, I don't know how you can sleep on that Exped in the summer - I just ROAST on my BAIAC in the summer. One of the major reasons for heading to the trees, I need to sleep cool to be happy. NXP I couldn't tell you either; It works for me. As you know, I've been hanging the last year too. 8-)...

Re: Sleeping mats / pads - what do you use?
Ahh to be young again. In my late teens to mid 20's if I would crash at a friend's house after a hard night of partying, all I needed was a pillow and some floor space. That changes when you hit your 40's. Heck, these days I wake up stiff and feeling like a cripple sleeping in a regular bed. That's...

Re: General Fitness Discussion thread
Weighed in today. 327. 18 pounds lost since April 3 (a bit more than a month). Was warned that I am losing too quickly and need to not short myself of points, which is easy to do actually. Pretty active weekend: Friday went on an errand to the grovery store. Instead of driving (1.2 miles) we road it...

Sure. That's nice of you. Ultimately a 6x4 chunk but I'll take whatever. Let me know when your project is done and we'll go from there.Dawgboy wrote:Ninja, If I end up with some extra after lining out the van, I will happily send you a section for the cost of postage.

Re: Sleeping mats / pads - what do you use?
I got a small bit of it after a friend's project, I made it into a pot cozy for my GSI nesting cup. Works great for that. I always thought that is would work pretty good with an old blue foam mat I got.

Re: Sleeping mats / pads - what do you use?
I've had good service from a USGI foam pad + a section of Reflectrix insulation Reflectix is a great idea! I have a 400 squarefoot roll of it to line my Dawgvan, and am going to have some extra. I used a couple pieces as a temporary hot tub cover and if you get the rifght stuff, it's tough. I set d...

Re: Spring showed up!!
Seriously though at this point I would be out in the PA woods, camping overnight by now. Problem is even though the temps are in the 60's and have been slowly climbing closer and closer to 70 degree for the high, the lows at night are still in the low 40's to below freezing. I expect that for March...

My custom scramsaex is Stortosk or "Bigtooth". Remmy 870 is Lil' Miss Blasty . My Dane axe is Jarnsaxa . << The SCA name of an ex that was a really hot but crazy chick that now owns a tattoo parlor. She got it from the name of a giantess in a story she read. It translates to "Iron Knife". Vicious, b...

You can just look through the threads here to see all our knives, axes, boards with nails in them and such. There are even some "show me your X" threads regarding weapons. Not busting you or anything, but I'm goign to lock this one up.

Spring showed up!!
Not a tutorial or anything. Just me saying that I am happy spring showed up and kind of with a vengance. 80 degree days when it was nothing but in the 50s just a few weeks ago. Almost like we skipped spring and got summer. Scurvy, Jak and I went on a short trip this weekend out to the spot we've bee...

Re: Sleeping mats / pads - what do you use?
I have an old green Thermarest Z-Lite from the 90s. I used that until about 2010 because it got to the point I barely noticed I was on a pad. I also started to get old and sleeping on the ground started to suck a bucket of cow-poop. I also got into winter camping. Spring 2010, after a few months of ...

Re: Booby Traps On Utah Trails
Back on subject - having grown up here in the Oregon and SW WA woods, we learned about booby traps early. When it comes to pot fields, we have them and some of us ZS members here even found some while mushroom hunting. The typical rule is to trap the field that is off the trail. Why? Not my concern....

I don't see politics being debated either, as per the RAW: 7.) No debating of politics or religion. To help discourage any of the above rules from being broken, we make a point to avoid these types of debates. It makes it a lot easier for us to all get along and helps us stay focused on our root top...

Did I read that correctly? 170 lbs down from 360 lbs? You lost a half of you. Pretty damn impressive. I've been struggling my whole life to make weight - even at the age of almost 41 I can't put on weight unless I eat like a football player. That's crazy man! Well done! To be honest, when I read of...
