Re: Travel Lessons

Australia was great! The people were very friendly and helpful. We slept on the ground at HomeBush and at some schools out in the suburbs of Mitcham (Melbourne) and Ryde (Sydney). The food was ok, lots of snags, tuna sandwiches, and d'vine bars. I tried vegemite and it wasn't half bad. Also visited ...

Re: Travel Lessons

Now, I know you said it's best not to look "big" because then someone is thinking if they could fight you. I'm 18, 6'3, 185lbs and have a large build, but have almost no muscle. I have the weird ability of carrying myself like I could beat the shit out of you, or like I'm kind of puny and non-aggre...

Re: Travel Lessons

Anything else I have to worry about? Fucking everything is poisonous, as far as wildlife goes. Aussie girls are easy. Aussie men are prone to drinking, and don't mind a good scrap. Basic rules still apply- don't cause trouble. Aussies as a rule are friendly, genial, drunk, and a blast to be around....

All it means is waves for us here on Florida's east coast. Friday and Saturday we're expecting Waist to Chest. Unfortunately I'm gonna miss it because I'll be on vacation.

Re: Travel Lessons

I'm leaving tomorrow for World Youth Day (google it) in Australia. 5 hour flight from Orlando to LA, 9 hour layover, 15 hour flight from LA to Melbourne. :? I'll be in Melbourne for 3 days, then a 13 hour bus trip, then Sydney for a week or so. All I really have to worry about is petty theft, am I c...

There's nothing better than going outside and doing some good pullups/chinups/upper body exercises on trees. It really helps work your muscles, especially when you get those branches that are at odd angles.

Re: Travel Lessons

Turkey wasn't too bad, surprisingly. Second friendliest country I visited. Agreed. I felt Turkey was much friendlier than Greece and even Switzerland. At one point we bought a couple bottles of water from a Turkish vendor. A man in our group casually pointed to an unfamiliar looking melon and said ...

That's assuming the car is not locked.

Maybe write "NO GAS" on the car (near the tank flap) if you have a sharpie.

Maybe we are getting some of the haze drift ... we did from the north Florida fires last year. I doubt it, the winds are out of the South and West. I had school today (Senior), but I know that I-95 southbound was closed. I want to help, if they're still raging tomorrow, I'm going to go down there a...

Yeah, I heard about that arson. Hope they catch the bastards. I live about 20 miles north of the fires but my school is about 5 miles north of them. Many of my friends are without power, and a few are very close to the fires. with a SW wind I'm getting smoke up here. There was also a fire started ne...

Brushfires in Central Florida: State of Emergency Declared

The fires in Volusia county are pretty much under control, but the ones in southern Brevard County are raging. All Palm Bay schools are closed. Over 50 homes have been burned down so far. http://cfnews13.com/News/Local/2008/5/12/firefighters_continue_battle_against_massive_blazes.html A bunch of my ...

We usually get a snake in the house ~4x per year. They've always been harmless (so far). Biggest one we've gotten was ~3 feet long.

Oh yeah, and I almost stepped on one barefoot. Freaked me out, especially since I hate snakes. I'm not afraid of anything else...not spiders, or heights...just snakes.

Dead Frontier 1-3 are some of my least favorite online zombie games to play. All you do is walk around a house and shoot. Too boring for me. But if there is strategy in these new ones, I will definitely give it a try.
