Re: Caliber Consolidation vs Caliber Diversity

Hi all, I'm constantly torn between consolidating calibers or having a diversity of guns. On the one hand, having only a few calibers allows for stockpiling of ammunition and you know you can use it even if one gun breaks or is lost. You can also outfit family and friends with firearms that pull fr...

A second Kel-Tec sub-2000 in 9mm, but this one takes Glock magazines like my pistols do. Gen 2, so will take a G17 magazine or a 33 round magazine.

Now to sell the one that only takes Beretta magazines...

Re: Modern Scout Rifle

calling it a scout rifle will do nothing but distract from the effectiveness of the setup. I'm sure it is better then a cooper scout in all but weight, but even the broadest definition of the moniker seems to apply poorly. I'd say any number of other names would fit better and wouldn't stir up the ...

Re: WWYD - medical related

WWYD – Medical related. Setup: You are at a rural Alaskan summer camp. The camp is at the end of an old logging road. Parking for campers is at a trail head, about a 20 to 30 min walk from the camp area. This is by design to limit the amount of 'stuff' campers will bring. (You have no idea) Campers...

Re: HELP: advice on bolt action carbines/scout rifles

Doctorr Fabulous: Ruger Gunsite Scout. .308 will get the job done, detachable magazines, iron sights and scope-friendly, the 16" version is very handy, and Ruger builds a better rifle than Mossberg does. TRhe laminate stock is plenty study. Don't use your rifle as a battering ram or club, and you'l...

Scenario 1: You are visiting a town and used public parking such as a parking deck. While walking on the street this riot starts and you get threatened and insulted for being short. A group of more than 8 tall people follow you as you turn into your parking deck. One runs around you to get in front...

Re: What is a bug out gun used for?

A guy carrying a longarm is going to draw attention from somebody, whether that's the civil authority, panicked refugees, acquisitive marauders, etc. I'm working on getting a foldable 9mm carbine that can fit into a backpack... hopefully, that can become best of both worlds, in that a pistol would ...

Kel-Tec Sub 2000 in 9mm.

Only down side is this one accepts Beretta 92 magazines (just have the one that came with it), rather than Glock 17 magazines (which I already own). C'est la vie.

Re: So I am taking the plunge for a carry permit. Holsters?

I carry two most of the time, a Glock 19 and a Glock 26. The G26 I also wear on my left ankle. The G19 I'm usually carrying in a SmartCarry holster, which I wear under my pants. It carries the G19 and a spare magazine held over my groin. I work in a hospital, and often wear scrubs to and from work. ...

More Corbon DPX 9mm 115gr ammunition. The stuff I've been carrying around for the last year is now in my safe, including the stuff I used to unchamber / chamber twice a day. I don't do that any longer, just keep them (very carefully) loaded to avoid primer separation from repeated chambering.

Re: What is a bug out gun used for?

Just from a tactical point of view: Most likely, the use of the bug out gun (if it's needed at all) will be to dissuade criminals from harming yourself or your loved ones. So we're talking about other human beings that may need to be stopped before they can cause you or your family harm. Pistols are...

Re: .357 Magnum, the all in one round?

I actually went to buy a .357 mag lever gun not that long ago on a whim and saw a Beretta Storm in 9mm that I decided to bring that home instead. While I feel the lever gun has a great classic look (and I own a .30-30 Spikehorn), there was a lot about the Storm I couldn't argue with. 9mm out of a 1...

Re: We are all out of ammo. What type of sword is best after

I'm best trained to use a smallsword, like a sabre that can be easily worn and is lightweight. A rapier would also be good, but is heavier than a smallsword / sabre.

However, if guns are out, then heavy armor is in, and it might be time to learn to use a broadsword and shield!

Suppressor for 9mm carbine + pistol

Hi all, I'm looking for advice for a legal (in my state they are) 9mm suppressor. It'll have to fit on 1/2" x 28 threads. The same can will have to work on a Kel Tec Sub-2000 Gen 2, and a Glock 19 Gen 4, interchangably. That means getting a rifled barrel for the Glock 19 Gen 4. Purpose is just to ge...

Check out a Smart Carry holster. The wearer doesn't need a belt, and it holds pistol plus spare magazine. I use one for a G19 when I'm in hospital scrubs.

Re: How many rifle magazines for a get-home kit?

Currently looking into a Kel Tec Sub-2000 in 9mm, which is foldable and easy to deploy, to compliment my 9mm Glocks as a get-home carbine rifle.

Just food for thought.
