Be careful with any groups you try starting up, the political atmosphere has brought out a lot of crazies.

Anyhow, welcome back.
Thanks, and sadly, tis very true :(

Ruger 10/22 mags. Which ones?

Hiyas, I know there's no "right answer," but I'm curious of experienced opinions... I just got a Ruger 10/22 short-barreled takedown. It's a perfect "survival" gun! Compact, dependable, versatile.... So I'm wondering, as I'm a poor person, what size magazines should I focus on stocking up on? The 10...

Re: Hello (again) from Cascadia!

Welcome (back) to ZombieSquad. Yes, the larger organization has largely gone dormant; the primary activity is here on the forums..... Well that's disappointing :( But at least the forums are still active (I've taken advantage of them myself a few times this last year). I actually really WOULD be in...

Hello (again) from Cascadia!

I joined back in 2005, when I lived in SW Missouri, but didn't really take it seriously then. A LOT has changed since! And I'm serious now, so I thought I'd reintroduce myself. :awesome: (Although, I'm a'feared Zombie Squad might not be a viable organization anymore? Aside from some forus use still?...

... but a casual look at google maps shows many secondary roads leading out from Portland . No matter what course of action you would end up taking , the smart move would be for you to check out as many of these roads as you find time to. Search them out online. Both Selco and Ferfal talked about how they'd have been better off in a smaller rural town or village . Not rural all alone. Stay in city or attempt the wilderness?

Did a quick scan and couldn't find this exactly topic elsewhere... Re: 22LR in a rifle, ok for defense?

What I'm hearing is "I need a .22 to be my weekend bullet hose." For that purpose, I would consider a 10/22 or some other dedicated .22 AR style rifle. The reason being you really want something you can shoot a lot, shoot fast, and won't quit on you in the middle of a mag. The Ruger 10/22 has a goo...

Re: 22LR in a rifle, ok for defense?

BTW, you know an AR-15 that chambers in 5.55 NATO can run .223 right? Much cheaper to practice with especially if you deal hunt. AR's are so modular, start with a complete one, replace as you go with what you want, and by the time you're done, you're almost to another gun, which you can complete an...

No offense, it kinda seems like you have Cavier tastes, and a Spam budget [...] No offense taken. At the risk of thread drift ( haha who me ? ) I'm kinda interested in why after a 14 year absence from the boards , you seem to be at the same or less point of prepping and experience with firearms. Don't mean to sound too nosey but for what reasons did you abandon ( or appear to ) prepping , but m...
