In Defense of the Fixed Front Sight
I was thinking about the on-again/ off-again rumors that Uncle Sam is once agin shopping / testing to determine what the next US mil carbine will be, and got to wondering which enhancements are worthy of being included and which are unnecessary, and came up with this train of thought when it comes t...

I like the Aimpoint PRO and variants thereof. I mostly run them in an ADM mount because of the weight. The field of view is good, they're tough and have great battery life.

I hope it will work on an AR.
Watch out, there are some fakes out there. Mine came with the tiny sight adjustment cheat sheet.

There are a lot of those USMC KAC 200-600 rear sights out there right now. You could use that quick adjust drum to quickly adjust for point of impact.

Primary Arms. B5 Systems Bravo stock and their P Grip for $49. Seems legit for the stock and the grip. They had black too. This is one of my favorite stocks. http://www.primaryarms.com/product/13819 ] Sent from ...

Nobody knows? Call me a miser, but I'm too stubborn to pay $8 plus shipping for a blob of steel smaller than a grape seed.

Tent won't set up stable in wind or shed water properly without tent stakes.

This little Bulldog case is down to $21.65 on Amazon. It has a nice divider in the middle so that an M4 split into an upper and a lower can comfortably fit on either side of the divider. Compared to a longer hard case or even a padded soft case, this simple setup is just so much less cumbersome and ...

A piston Adams upper can be had for about $420ish for a basic carbine.

Re: DIY Kydex thread?
Anyone made a Kydex mag carrier for a 20rd Pmag? Switched to a plain pistol belt so I no longer need MOLLE compatibility with my stuff, looking to make a holster for my SCCY and a 20rd Pmag. If I have enough Kydex leftover I'll try to make a double pistol mag carrier. I imagine it's a lot like a 30...

I prefer the Safariland ALS series of holsters. They are available for 1911's and are not available for BHP.

Just be sure to also budget for a light colored sport coat with the sleeves rolled up.

A while back I was shooting with friends and decided to fire my deep conceal /backup piece to keep familiar with it. I neglected to reload it right away. Two days later I realized I'd been carrying it empty for two days.

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
I feel weirdly conflicted about AR's. When I had a carbine, I wanted a middy. When I got a middy, I wanted a free float tube. When I got that I wanted a different free float tube. Now I find myself wanting a carbine with GI handguard again. What's my deal? What I probably really need is a big Lego s...

Re: So I made another plate carrier
4' elastic with the grippy hypalon is a lot of retention. Add Pmag ribs in and they are pretty solid. Upside-down BFG 10-speeds aren't unheard of either, even with aluminum mags. I'm kind of counting on the bottom-out draw for certain concealment garments so I don't want to seal off the bottom. Thi...

Re: So I made another plate carrier
My sewing machine is down right now, but I want to try something like what you made. Otherwise, I might try and buy a "minimalist" carrier (like just two plates bags with straps) and sew on additional velcro and just make the cummerbund.

I like the idea of the rifle mag pouch! Will need some shallow pouches for this as my regular ones for 30rnds 5.56 will be too deep for practical use. But I'm sure you guys are correct in that there is a lot of suitable poches :) Sent fra min GT-I9295 via Tapatalk It depends how long your shotgun c...
