Seriously Waterproof Sunscreen.

I'm going to be doing some beach-hunting this summer; can anybody recommend a sunscreen that will remain effective even after hours of sweat and an occasional aqueous excursion?

A Resonably Good Inflatable Canoe?

I'm looking for an inflatable boatish thing that will ferry me and a fair amount of gear over short/medium distances under manual (paddle) power. Do I want too much?

Re: Watches for long-term survival off the grid

I was thinking more of in a SHTF context, its not like we'll be punching time clocks or filling in time sheets is it? I for one wont have any appointments to go to, so for me time will be irrelevant, i'll get up probably a little before dawn...always been an early riser, and will go to bed once its...

My local surplus let me know they had MRE's in stock, but "...they're National Guard". Is that significant?

Anybody get their Solo Stove to work right?

http://www.solostove.com/

Seems like a great idea, but in practice, I have yet to get mine to burn well for over a minute or two. I'm not sure if I'm flooding it, or starving it, or both on and off. Anyway, I haven't picked up the knack yet, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Boxed Wine =)

Not the common wine in a plastic bag in a box, but the stuff in aluminumized cardboard cartons. Does anybody have some idea how long the stuff can be expected to remain drinkable? I have some in my food reserve (for the resveratrol of course). The cartons are rather lighter than glass bottles, of co...

Crunchies freeze-dried fruit.

http://crunchiesfood.com/ First off, let me state that I have no financial, or otherwise, interest in this company. I felt compelled to let that go at the gate because this (short) review is going to read a little like shilling. I'm just a prepper-type guy that tried a bag of their mixed fruit and ...

Re: Gas mask tyme.

I would suggest NATO filters or get an adapter to fit NATO filters. Also side mounted filter screws otherwise you won't be able to get a sight picture while shooting longarms. Other than that, buy something in your price range and make sure it's airtight and you know how to seal and purge, etc. Oh ...

Pick one? Betadyne. Could be used to purify water, simple to use, topically applied, and stores for a long time. Sort of a workhorse antibiotic.

That, or ethanol, because it serves double duty as well.

Oral, pill type, I mean.

Re: Decent pistol crossbow?

What if you modded bolts to be long enough to hang just off the front end with broadheads? Say, screw two shafts together, weight them and add hunting tips. You could end up with a very nasty little weapon. You'll lose effective range due to the longer bolt and added weight. In order to fire a long...
