Re: DIY Flint striker...Yup it is a file.

I liked your idea so much I copied the file part. I couldn't find any flint so I improvised and recycled one of the many cutting torch strikers I had laying around. I still need to get some spare flints for that. The bic is empty, but I use it as well. Everything in this little kit works very well,...

Re: Post Apocalyptic Crude Power Source

I'm in the process of researching a solar/battery set up to run emergency lights and my CB base station. But what I really need make it a reality is money.

Re: How much water storage?

Re: What 5 Wilderness Survival Items...

Since like 5col I'd be in the N.C. wilderness, I'd have to go with: 1. Camo/olive-drab heavy-duty tarp 2 . Heavy duty para-cord 3 . Swedish steel striker 4 . Ka-bar knife 5 . Re: Our first Neolithic tomahawk!

I'm also into Neolithic skills. I'm learning the "food, fire, shelter" skills now, and am preparing to learn the stone tool and weapons part later. That 'hawk looks pretty nice to me, my main problem is going to be having to purchase the natural elements to make historically correct pieces. Yours lo...
