The leg was barely bleeding, loose dressings were applied and we verified pedal pulses. He got the full board collar CID trauma naked, two lines oxygen via NRB at 15LPM, EKG and vitals every 5 minutes ala life pack 12. His pain was around a six but his pressure issues contraindicated any meds on pr...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

Also wtf sig, get your paperwork in order (and woo Jeriah I love my WG pew's too). Not so much "get you paperwork in order" as "stop claiming to sell thousands of SP 2022s on the US civilian market while actually sneaking them to South America". They are not getting out of this easily, they deliber...

Start with the basics. - C collar, vacuum mattress. - Complete but careful body check. - O2 via mask, can never hurt. - It's established procedure on trauma patients here to start TWO lines, two large PVCs, 14 G if I can get them in there, Ringer's solution at maximum flow on at least one of them, p...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

I'll have you guys know that due to allegations of illegal arms trafficking, the German government stopped all arms exports of Sig Sauer (J. P. Sauer & Son Ltd). Magazines and accessories are still good to go. If any of you own a German-made Sig and were thinking about liquidating your assets, now w...

Re: GLBT issues in the PAW

Automatically assuming that a large section of the population wants to assault or murder you for what clothes you're wearing is a bit much though. At the risk of starting a he said / she said debate: No one said that. I sure as hell hope everyone here is aware that outbursts of violence over minor ...

Re: GLBT issues in the PAW

I thought about NOT clicking on this thread when I saw the subject. Mainly because I was expecting... no, not hate. I was expecting a lot of blanket statements and nonsense. Glad to see that's not the case. I'll make a few points, if I may. I don't know if it really addresses the issue, but it's mos...

Re: Swiss Army Bread Bag

While we have established that this is a standard issue bread bag of a later date, there REALLY IS quite a lot of commercially-made gear that mimicks the look of Swiss military hardware. Bear in mind that the Swiss Army is a militia, a lot of Swiss males are militiamen, and especially when they get ...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

The German Federal Court of Auditors just told the Bundeswehr to stop downplaying data and ignoring studies on the G36's accuracy and reliability just to keep its face. So, grossly oversimplified: H&K and the Kraut Army got told off by a bunch of nosy accountants. Constitutionally mandated, federall...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

And H&K just lost on an awesome deal, because the Kraut Army will not buy any more G36 for now, as experiences in Afghanistan have brought up concerns over its reliability. But but but gas piston designs are inherently super reliable and HK is forged by the teutonic gnomesmiths?! Sad to hear even t...

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

Aaaaaand... today the German Supreme Court in all its endless wisdom decided that storing a loaded firearms shall henceforth be illegal, even if it's in a safe. Because it shows a lack of responsibility. CARRYING a loaded firearm on your own property is still perfectly fine. Um... :?: :? And H&K jus...

Re: Badassing the Cobra Pistol Crossbow

Okay, I was being daft. The issue is not if the crossbow would be considered equivalent to a firearm in this case (it probably wouldn't) or if it was legal to attach a light to it by arbitrary means (it probably would). The problem is that if Jörg was constructing a light mount for something like a ...

Re: Using a modified DTV dish to increase solar cell efficie

Photovoltaic cells lose efficiency when they get too hot. Like, a lot. You would have to carefully balance your system in order not to heat up your cells too much. If you're just running a solar water heater (i.e. a purely thermal system), then sure, go ahead. You'd basically be building a diy solar...
