Re: It's spinal surgery fun time!

After 30 years in the martial arts I have a conclusion...one you seriously injure your neck or back it never gets better and surgery just brings about another form of pain. I've seen it more times than I can remember. Fortunately, i've escaped such injuries but the guys I do know have suffered for y...

Cool. I'd still go with something light, simple...and yes, please check out the tomahawk. They are fun and they hit hard!

I don't go to places where taking a piss can be a security issue... But, just to play along since its that kind of party in here, you should kick back your leg thats closest to the door because thats the direction in which he'll run. You will most likley strike the side of his leg or trip him either...

Re: What throwing axes?

Personally not a fan of throwing axes. I prefer throwing knives...lighter, can carry more, less effort to throw, etc. But, if its an axe you want the issue of weight would be my first question. I'd go with whatever was lightest to carry and took the least amount of physical commitment to throw. I'd ...

Born and raised in The Bronx, NY. Now I live in rural NY. Still, I have a kick ass alarm system, security cameras, swords, firearms, and other "bad guy disposal devices" in my home. Crime is not an urban thing...its a people thing. Yes, it appears to be worse in the cities because there are more peo...

I finished last night at 11PM! 1,000 pushups in 24 hours. I was paced at around 50 pushups at the top of every hour. I gave myself a head start by knocking out 100 yesterday morning and 100 after lunch. Yesterday's diet was and will remain until I'm healed at 60% protein, 40% fat. Whey during...

The survivor is a citizen which means religious-based terrorism was just applied on US soil by someone who came from our nation’s main stream, was listed on its honor roll, and came out of one of its most prestigious colleges. Same could be said for much of the KKK and the leaders of the American B...

Thanks dudes. Love the .22 idea... I'm expecting some kind of animal aggression, no dout. As for moles...yes we have them too. Little bastards. Well, just applied for an officer position. Which means I'm going to have to pass the physicals. 300 meter run, non timed pushups, 1 min full sit up and 1.5 mile run. Total of 160 points passes. The sprint and run are no prob, I'll max my scores there, even out of shape I'm in shape for those. The ...

Sweeeet! You have livestock issues? Don't think that fence would stop a determined deer, but will keep the dogs out... White tails, rabbits, groundhogs, coyote, beaver, black bear...I'm in the woods dude. The fence is an "okay" hight for deer, but you will notice that in the tree behind the garden ...

The good news is our nanny is from Ukraine and her family has "fields" where they grow all their own food so I'll just learn from her.

If this guy makes it out alive, I wonder if they'll fry him considering Brevik just got 21 years for killing 77 people, which is absurd. I see a law research paper here. In Norway...not Massachusetts. Does MA even have a death penalty? I would think they could justify trying him on federal charges....

Kind of funny that post-Boston Marathon bombing, North Korea got real quiet with their threatening rhetoric. Re: How do you prep food when you only eat fresh?

I also eat "fresh" meaning I do not eat processed foods except when I'm in the field. That's the case with everyone I know who maintains a good diet and still likes to hit the woods once in a while. Canned goods are for the woods! If SHTF its about survival and if needed, mobility. Fresh food will b...

They have evacuated the town of the law-abiding, so just the lawless remain, hence the looting. Supposedly additional law enforcement is being brought in to discourage the activity. Methinks the lawless are going to have a bad day... I know parts of TX and have several friends from there, they don'...
